It has nothing to do with pride. It is simply acknowledging and confessing what has been shown to you. If you don't confess it you are not judging yourself and are not dealing with the sin.

We don't have the power or capability of wiping our sin away. If that is the impression you got then I apologize as that is not what I meant. However when we are told something is sin we must deal with that sin as in confession and letting Jesus wash us. If we don't then that sin WILL be dealt with.
What happens to the sin that you are not made aware of? How is it dealt with? What makes it any different than the sin you are made aware of?

It is impossible for God to just let sin go or sweep it up under the carpet.
I agree, hence the need for the Substitute to take the wrath on our behalf.

BGTF,
I hope you are a patient person. :) These arguements with JJump have gone on and on for years, but more intensley in the last few weeks.

I enjoy reading your rebuttles, but only God can reveal the truth to him and his friends. His eyes have been blinded by Joey Faust and the like. Of course, he says he learned it all from the Bible.

Keep up the good work!

No they didn't. You say that because they used the word eternal as if they agreed with "your" definition of the word eternal. As I have said before the word "eternal" has not always meant without beginning and without end.

The word "eternal" used to mean a really long period of time. Not oustide of time.

So just because the word "eternal" was used by the KJV translators does not settle the issue at all.

No. They just use that "word". That doesn't mean they have the same understanding. Now granted I think the "modern" versions probably do, but it is based on a flawed understanding of the word eternal.
Isn't it odd that I must provide sources for my statements (and I do), but I am demanded by J.J. to accept his opinion at his word as absolute truth with no verification from any outside source at all. He says it; therefore it is true. There is only One person I know that has that kind of authority J.J., and it ain't you.

Thanks Amy,

I appreciate the encouragement, but I actually really care about him.

He is very zealous which I appreciate, he also says many useful things and has a possibility to do a tremendous amount of good, if he would only point others to the FINISHED work of Christ, instead of to the UNFINISHED work of Christ.

Spurgeon has the perfect sermon on this.

JJ, please read the sermon too. I want you to know that I came here to do you good, not harm.
