I am the song leader of Little Bethany Primitive Baptist Church... We don't use any musical instruments and we sing accapella. I have been to singing school but do not read a lick of music. You may ask yourself how can I not read music and lead the song service?

I was raised in church singing next to all the brethren song leaders that came before me since I have been knee high to a grasshopper 45 years ago. The notes are in my head and if I learn a new song whether Common Meter... Short Meter... or Long Meter... I store it in my mind for future reference. Though I cannot read a note of music in the many sermons in song I lead people to the Lord... My pulpit is in front of the congregation making a joyful noise unto the Lord from those sermons in song... Some so long ago... Watts... Newton... Wesley... Crosby... Toplady... Cowper... Rippon... Spafford... and Bennard... What these saints of God penned in prose I raise my voice in praise!... I'm a song leader!... Brother Glen Of The Primitive Baptist Brethren... Number 154 OSH #10... Amazing Grace!

Incredible! That's more than I could do! I know
music, and I cannot play a single instrument. I
can sing, though, and I have led music.

Wwonderful, Tyndale, that you can hold all that
in your mind. Ii t is a gift.
