The tomb of Jesus....

That is a very good link sir.

Particularly when it leads here -

A very compelling point made there is that there are no Christian symbols or artifacts in the tomb. Surely it would have been adorned with "something Christian" prior to 70 AD since that WAS the launch of Christianity from Jerusalem! Some inscription - some Bible quote, some reference to "Son of David" at the very least as we SEE them doing in the Gospels. So not only is this not Jesus' tomb - it is not even a Christian tomb!

I am watching it now. One of the few believable (very few) things that they have said is: "There never has been any credible archaelogical evidence that Peter was ever in Rome." His tomb also is supposedly there in Jerusalem.
So much for Peter being the Pope in Rome!
We've known this for a long time. But what is really disturbing is that most of these theories about a "spiritual" resurrection and not a literal physical one and all these other things that these unbelievers are saying, all originated from within the church itself. These unbelievers are just reitterating these things. The Bible is and has been the most maligned book in the world. No other books including the Quran and the mahabharata or whatever religious book you care to name has ever been spoken against or has come under such scientific scrutiny or public ridicule as the Word of God. And the amazing thing is that I believe it is still the world's best seller. All these other religious books of the world religions are all treated with respect and reverence by the world. But the Bible is always scoffed at as being nonsense and lies and full of contradictions.

Perhaps this Jesus didn't believe in our Jesus.

I know we have contended that Peter was never Pope. But after all the trash that was posted on that film, it was finally refrehing to see one tiny tidbit of truth come out. Much of what they said were outright lies, going right against the grain of society.

"Mary of Magdalene was ordained." Like that ever happened!! It is hard enough for a woman to be ordained in most religious circles today, let alone in a society where most women were considered not much more than a piece of property. (Sorry ladies). It is impossible for a woman to be ordained in Biblical times, in spite of what these people conjecture. The status of which they give Mary Magdalene is unbelievable. They twist the Greek language to say that she was a rabbi or apostle. She was put on par with Peter. This is unbelievable.

The entire setting starts on a false premise. There is a second gospel recorded in the gospel of Matthew, where the Jews told the Roman soldiers that disciple hid the body of Jesus. It is that gospel that we want to explore. (My own paraphrase from memory). What a twisting of words!!
There is no second gospel. The Jews of course went and told them a lie to cover up the truth. The entire plot is one to deny the resurrection, and make the historical Jesus nothing but an ordinary man.

While I have no doubt that Mary of Magdala did proclaim Christianity - the tomb saying "Mary called Mara" was getting wrenched by the movie producers into "Mary the Master" using a lot of gymnastics.

This is where they blatantly display the key flaw to their story telling. If the Jews AND the Christians were BOTH arguing that Christ's body could not be found (for whatever reason) then the answer "nope - he is in a well marked family tomb and all his famly and friends are being buried theire with him" does not fit.

In Christ,

Bob
