I’m very passionate about subjects like this.

I wish the original poster could at least put in the effort to type out a summary of the video's content instead of directing the readers to an external site where the teaching is handled for them. This way, we can pinpoint where to discuss a specific topic rather than leaving others in the dark as to what we're talking about.

I do understand that’s not how things are done around here, and that’s fine.

Or you could just watch the short video and comment on any part that you wished. I like how he sqashes the telephone game comparison to how actual scribes really worked instead.

I could. I suppose my feeling as a reader is that if I don’t see that any real effort was put into a post, I don’t see why I should give it the time of day. But it’s no big deal, really. Next time I’ll move on without mentioning it.

Thank you for your thoughts on this.

Members have different feelings about posted videos. Personally I like short concice discriptive videos.

The two videos, 8 minutes, 11 minutes, were by the same author.

I understand the idea.
But as an example for videos, I just posted a video (much longer than 8 minutes) because what I am interested in is the thoughts about the posted content. In my case it is a matter of “popular teacher said.” With that in mind, I wanted to offer the “where” it was said and give the direct source instead of potentially adding my perception of what was said. So to get the information to you straight from the horses mouth, so to speak, is a legitimate post.
There is also that a synopsis of the video may not do justice to the points being made.
It also prevents the opposite extreme where someone says that they got their content from the internet but won’t tell you where. (Yes that happens) posting the original source is the preferred extreme.

Just some thoughts.
