I may very well be wrong, BUT, based on the "dangers" parroted by the professionals(?) in media, the dem politicians, and the ever changing scenario of our "future" IF we don't follow all demands, this virus, IMHO, has "DEMOCRAT TALKING POINT" written all over it in big bold flashing letters!!!
My theory is "get back to work, school, shopping, socializing etc." & if you are afraid (some legitimacy here), then stay home until you feel comfortable.
Main point, don't let a bunch of politicians supervise and dictate your every move; specially the ones who touted the insignificance of 19 before it became political!!
How much of this garbage did we see the last few years w/all the flu deaths????????????????

After reading this, I think that I will decline to be tested.
I don’t consider that to be a reasonable response.

The woman wanted to insure she would not infect her mother (or anyone else) so prior to traveling there she got the test.
Responsible people act responsibly. She obviously would not travel and would self isolate.

Her response was measured, well articulated and IMO quite proper.

Perhaps she should put a BLM poster in the window.

Two people my wife knows went to the health department drive through testing. They filled out the paperwork and then due to wait being too long, left without being tested. Five days later they were called and told to quarantine because they tested positive.

This is not about a virus. It is about stripping liberty. I would not have signed the quarantine order either. Getting tested is pointless. If you feel perfectly fine, going to be tested makes no sense. I personally know over 40 people who have tested positive for covid 19. Not one of them got even remotely sick. Most of them got tested because they wanted a 2 week paid vacation.
One guy has cancer, is on Chemo, finished radiation a few weeks ago, is insulin dependent diabetic, and has a laundry list of other stuff wrong with him. He got tested before a procedure. Tested positive. He is fine.

I suspect that I may have had covid in March, so about a month and a half ago, I sent an email to the Red Cross, offering to get tested for antibodies and offering to donate plasma, if they felt that it would be useful. They emailed a contract-like document to me to fill out and sign. It looked threatening because in the wording, it made reference to them reserving the right to contact the authorities.
I didn't persue it any further. It was as if I offered help, and they offered a serpent.

Outrageous decision! Ankle bracelets? Because they wouldn’t sign a form? I would love to see the state statute that authorized this action.

I generally oppose lawsuits, but in this case I hope they do.

peace to you

If you want to back a law enforcement officer down when he is on shaky legal ground and he knows it, this is how you do it:
1. Inform him that you are going to sue him personally, in addition to the department.
2. You are going to demand, and not back down or be cheaply bought off, criminal charges against him for false imprisonment.

They should just cut them off and do what they want. They were going to self isolate anyway. As Reynolds says, if they push the issue, law enforcement will back down. They are on very shaky legal ground and most likely know it.

Not LE. A judge issued the order for the ankle bracelets.

Officers are responsible for serving illegal court orders. Kind of odd that the judge is immune from liability for an illegal order, but the executing officer is not immune.

The crazy thing is that during the Hong Kong flu epidemic the hippies had a drug-fueled public orgy at Woodstock, New York. I follow a couple of hippies at the bottom of YouTube and they both want strict government control during this pandemic. One of them is so uptight and full of threats that I stopped watching. The other is scared of catching the disease. But here is the problem: a strict quarantine has disastrous economic consequences for aging hippies and other lower class people over a disease with a high cure rate. Adjusted for population, the Hong Kong flu might have been more deadly. It is surprising that those two hippies moved so close to government control. Of course, they are both Democrats but hippies used to be anti-government.
