They Shall Walk With Me In White, For They Are Worthy

Rev. 3:2-6 KJV

"Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.

Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.

Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.

He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches."

What Christ said to the Church of Sardis some 2000 years is ago, He is still saying today to the Church. "He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment."

There were only a few in that Church that were worthy to walk with Christ in white, and today there is still only a few!

Why is there only a few? Why does Christ threaten to "blot out their names from the Book of life? Why must they "hold fast that they have received and heard?" How did they defile their garments? What are the the things they must strengthen, that are ready to die?

And most of all, how did the few overcome, the ones that shall, "walk with Me in white, for they are worthy? Who are they, what makes them worthy?

Some will say, here goes Charlie again, he wants to cut every Calvinist throat he can find! No my friend, you can be wrong on every doctrine in Scripture, but if you get Christ right, you will "walk with Him in white, for you are worthy!"

Jesus Christ is the foundation of Christianity, His death, burial, and resurrection, understanding what this means, and why He did it for us. All doctrine found in Scripture are categories underneath this foundation. You can get them all wrong, but if you get the foundation right, and hold on to it till the end, as I said, you will walk with Him in white.

So to answer the previous questions, they stumbled with the doctrines, as we do on these boards, and lost sight of what saved them in the beginning, The Foundation. They did not hold their faith in that Foundation to the end! That is "what was to be strengthened," what they had to hold fast, what they had received and heard," The Foundation.

Now to answer the most important question previously asked, "how did the few overcome?"

Rev. 12:10-11

"And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death."

They overcame and walked with Him in white holding fast the Foundation, The Blood of the Lamb. The "word of their testimony" is the object of their faith, The Foundation.
