Man, why would anyone ever go to a church that stood for nothing?

Why bother?

What a waste of time!

And what a sorry Laodicean excuse for a "church." God forbid that anyone who is truly seeking Him would darken the door of that place. They'll leave more confused than they entered.

Doesn't she have enough love and compassion to tell these Muslims and Jews that Jesus said unless they become Christians all of their calls for peace and tolerance will follow them into the pit of hell? And if she does not believe this, she is on the road to hell herself.

Glenn Beck is trying this road as well.

Yeah, I agree with you guys. Write it down, it may be a first. The Disciples of Christ are the left wing of the Restoration Movement. Note that the article speaks of New Union as a tiny church in Woodford County. Although New Union was never large, it used to be a lot more robust than it is now. About 40 or 50 years ago the Disciples embraced the social gospel and they have been on the decline ever since. This church is less than ten miles away from their flagship seminary which will soon close due lack of enrollment. Whenever you have a watered down gospel that does not emphasize the exclusive saving power of Jesus Christ, you will have a lukewarm congregation that does nothing to attract new members.

Zenas, you're right. Although sometimes, unfortunately, a church that does not stand for anything...sometimes they become a "tourist attraction" and draw more folks than before. Doesn't appear to be the case with this one.

The only thing that would make this perfect? If the church's pastor would've had a hyphenated last name.

Oh well, maybe next time.

Better yet, maybe there won't be a next time for a situation like this.
