This new forum stinks!

Well, I guess you have two choices--you can leave or you can stay here and whine about it--or perhaps you can start a thread and make some suggestions on how to improve it?

 

I like it.

 

Its a great forum for expressing ideas. This is the same template that I use for the talk board on the federal thrift savings program. It is not that different than the last one.

 

I did not think I would like it when I first started looking around, but now I really like the new format.

I mean who would not like the fact that Gib and Bitsy can now change pictures more than some folks change their underwear

 

We couldn't really say we are Baptists if we all accepted change well. :laugh:


I like it now, took me a day or so to get used to it. I keep missing PMs though. but thats my fault. :thumbs:

 

I like it, except that it makes Firefox shut down quite frequently.

 

i use firefox and it doesnt shut down on me...

It's always when I'm using the back arrow after making a post. It does it sporadically for the most part, but did it about 4 times in a row the other day. Others have had this problem using some forum software, because there's a page of fixes for it that I haven't had time to read yet.

 

It is different. Microsoftian look and feel running on php. Must be one ingenious new software.

 

Maybe that's the problem, as Baptist there should have been a board and a committee. The first meetings would have been to select board leadership then comes the menu. Cuz we all know no Baptist committee can meet without a menu.

After a few months of meeting and greeting and deciding when to next meet and greet a motion can be made for new business which would then be changed because the committee would come up with a new reason for existing.

Almost forgot, I once saw this definition of committee, "a committee is a group that keeps minutes and loses hours"

 

mine is ie6, and of late it's been acting strange, like just a few minutes ago, all my modem lights were lit (dsl) and I tried to refresh after being away for about 3 hours and it goes: page you are viewing is not available offline !

I thought: what ? Baptist Board offline ?

now i know who the culprit is !!

but i like the format, from the beginning.

 

You mean you know that error indicated your computer was not online and had nothing to do with this board???

BTW, Andrew posted a thread in Bap Announcements about things you would like to see here.

 

The old forum had some quirks/bugs that drove me crazy, but once I got used to them, I kinda miss them... But a forum is a forum is a forum. This ones pretty nice. They did a great job migrating from the old one to this one.

 

Pastor -- I think you know your flock a tad too well if this is something you know about them . . . :tongue3:

 

I like the new one pretty good... once I figured out how to get BBCodeXtra and SmileyXtra to work again.

The main site I post on uses an older version of vB, so it hasn't been too hard on me.

I do miss the alternating white and grey backgrounds for posts, though. it helped me seperate what each person wrote much better than the current form does.
