This year's surprises in College Football

I would say Rutgers and Wake Forest are the 2 biggest surprises to me. It is good to see some different programs having success. I wish them well.

There are many disappointments. Florida State is a big one. Miami is a big one, and I hope they continue to be a disappointment for years to come

I'm still rooting for a losing season for FL state!

 

Kentucky being bowl eligible and #2 in the SEC-East. I would have never guessed. Maybe there is hope for us yet, (in football that is). :applause:

 

I echo SBC's thoughts...and although I doubt they would make the noise in other conferences...who'd a-thunk Louisville, West Virginia, and Rutgers...3 teams from the Big East...would have made waves nationally.

 

Now you all are just being mean.

Actually, FSU and the U's demise is not that much of a surprise, though I didn't think they'd fall this far. Both programs have been declining the past few years, even though most programs would love to have "only three" losses. Plus, you can only go through so many years with underclassmen heading to the pros without it affecting your program.

Bobby's son resigned this morning and expect both UM's AD & head coach to do the same at the end of the year.

The biggest surprise is Wake Forest. But (and a big but) they have two tough games ahead. Hope they make it thru to the ACC finals.

 

The Big East in general is a shocker...i know i had blown off any chance of them having any say-so in the national championship debate this far into the season.

Arkansas is a big surprise, especially after the pasting they took from USC to start the season; and now they are in line for a trip to Atlanta for the SEC championship.

OSU and UM actually meeting up undefeated is a bit of a shocker to me in that neither one figured out how to lose the close one.

There's just a few, i have more, but i'll just say those for now.

 

Even so, I would have never thought it possible in a million years. UK is not known for it's football program by any stretch of the imgaination. There may be hope for us yet.

 

Rutgers for me, by far.

 

Rutgers!! But a bigger surprise would be if they make it to a BCS bowl game. Surprising what a few Texas boys can do!

The biggest surprise will come after saturday if Michigan beats OSU, and OSU is not in the national championship.

 

The biggest surprise -- Rutgers.

Many of the Rutgers' team is from Florida -- not a surprise since Coach Schiano is a former U assistant head coach. In fact, you can drive down the street only miles from the U campus and see a Rutgers Football billboard.

Note -- Schiano's name is being bantered about to replace Coker.

 

IMO, taking the Miami job would be foolish.

Miami would have to be one of the top 5 easiest schools to recruit great talent to along with SC, ND, Texas, and a few other possibilities like UF, UGA, or LSU.

If you deal with the bright lights (and keep players out of jail) then there probably isn't a better job in college football.

 

Expectations. He'd be putting himself in a very tenuous position.
