BAGHDAD (CNN) -- Tens of thousands of people marched through the streets of Baghdad on Friday, enthusiastically voicing support for Lebanon's Hezbollah militia.

Angry protesters chanted slogans, burned Israeli flags and waved Lebanese and Hezbollah flags in the Iraqi capital's densely populated Shiite enclave of Sadr City. They also held up placards with the portrait of Hassan Nasrallah, head of Hezbollah.

I guess we have succeeded in bringing a free society to Iraq. They never protested against Saddam Hussein, but now are expressing themselves.

I state strongly that this was not worth over 2,500 lives and 20,000 more or less wounded and maimed. It is obvious by this picture and btw it is an opportunity..that we are being asked to get out! I thought this would happen much sooner ..really hoping for it after the invasion of Iraq and then the 2nd chance came with William F. Buckley's admonishment and opportunity...will bush blow this as well.

bush is an ideologue that has fooled a lot of people with spin words and charm his little catch phrase that got him elected "compassionate conservative" is such a vile joke now.

Listen carefully ...bush said at first we were going in to get rid of WMD and as much as Sean Hannity wants to push the lie ..we have not found them in tonnages and or an active program that was an on time threat or a threat for years.

The 2nd spin and reason ...to change the middle east into democracies so when Hizbollah, and Hamas out flank bush he is trapped with his 2nd silly excuse that was a lie to begin with.

    Agree with you.

They threw rocks today at the British embassy.

They shouted Death to America and Death to Israel.

Knowing the religious and politically ideology that drives the Sunnis and Shiites, I have always feared we would be entangled in a civil war in Iraq with our troops caught in the middle. I believe there is a civil war going on and our troops are caught in the middle and it will get worse. Not long ago, I posted a thread where some of our troops have been killed by Iraqi forces that we armed and trained.

I have always feared and stated all along that these Iraqi troops we are training and arming as well as the masses would one day turn on our troops and slaughter them. I pray we can pull out our troops before the inevitable happens and we lose more American lives to these beasts who are driven by hate and their religion of hate. There are evil people in the world whether it is politically correct to admit it or not.

I wonder if there is a contingency plan should the masses and military we armed over there (with our tax dollars) start slaughtering our troops in groups, instead of picking them off one by one? Seeing the pride, arrogance, and blindness of this administration, I doubt it. Do they even bother to think of the worst case scenario, or are they so blind and caught up in their delusions of how they wish the world would be, that reality can never sink in?

Even when the "elected" leader of Iraq, our guy, said he supported Hezbollah, excuses were made for it and he was welcomed with open arms into our White House and into the halls of Congress. Someone whose core religious belief is to destroy all the infidels was welcomed to our governmental bodies like he is a brother and excuses were made to the American people for his remarks and his inaction to curb the violence in his country.

Bottom line: We can feed them, clothe them, build their infrastructure, throw money at them, give them jobs, build schools and hospitals for them, educate them, provide health care and immunizations for their children, promise and deliver to them a better life, and in the end when all the blood is shed and all the limbs are blown off, and all the tax dollars are spent, WE ARE STILL THE INFIDELS and all that matters to them is their stupid religion of hate. Whether it is in Iraq, Palestine, Lebanon, or elsewhere.

Slightly off topic, but here is the latest news reported on FNC. We, that's us, the US military & tax payers, are going to arm and train the Lebanese army according to the US State Department. Now we will have US soldiers in Lebanon, fighting the "insurgents" (Hezbollah and their supporters) in the same mess that we are into in Iraq...all the while the PM of Lebanon has publically stated he supports Hezbollah and 82% of the Lebanese people support Hezbollah.

I've never heard anything so stupid in my life. Any normal thiinking person should know that if 82% of the populace of a country support Hezbollah, a terrorist group, among them some in the Lebanese army, no doubt, they certainly aren't going to welcome American troops there and our military will be caught up in the madness. We are arming people in this world whose primary objective is "Death to America. Death to Israel." And we are paying for the madness with our treasure and blood only to end in our ultimate doom.

Like I've stated before, this president has done more to help the islamic cause of world domination than any president in US history.

Thanks for the heads up, LE. Here's the story:

The United States plans to help train and equip the Lebanese army so it can take control of all of the nation's territory when warfare between Israel and Hezbollah eases, the State Department said Thursday....

Last week, the State Department notified Congress it wanted to add $10 million to the $1.5 million it provides annually to the Lebanese military....

Bush has said he does not envision having American ground troops in a peacekeeping force, but the U.S. could contribute communications, logistics and other support....

    Guess this means more taxes.

I was all for the efforts in Iraq, but seeing as how our troops are going to get caught in the middle of a civil war of members of the "religion of peace", I think we all better start demanding our men and women be brought back home.

Let them all blow themselves up for all I care.

As a matter of fact, give them back Saddam Hussein, the more the merrier.

The one part of Iraq that remains steadfastly pro-American is the Kurds. Since the sunni's and shiites are bent on killing each other and then us, I say let em have at it, we move our troops up with the Kurds, help them develop. This is going to turn out to be 3 countries anyhow, which is the way it should have been set up to begin with.:wavey:

Yup, and when they're tired of killing each other and realize they ain't goin' nowhere, and finally decide to set up their government and build their country, let's have nothing at all to do with them.
Iran and/or Syria can have them, or they can pay us back our money first.
Either way, I don't have any more respect left for these "peaceful" religionists.
