Tim LaHaye Launches New Fiction Series

Just finished the book. It's about a sort of "Indiana Jones" type character, a Christian archaeology professor, who goes off in search of the trhee pieces of Moses' bronze serpent, while the "bad guys" are looking for it too. A group of these bad guys are trying to establish the one-world government that figures in end-time prophecy. Not bad, but not as good as the Left Behond series. But I will read the second book next year, just to see what happens in the story.

 

Why not? He has already learned how to CON the world of christendom into buying his nonsensical prostitution of pre-trib theology. I am embarrassed to be pre-trib because of him and his fellow cronies.

When will "christians" wake up and stop buying into this trash that people market for their money. It isn't edifying the body. It is preying upon people.

WWJD, Prayer of Jabez, Purpose Driven Whatever, and Left Behind are there to rip you of your money.

 

They're good books. Or at least most of them are.

 

There probably hasn't been a Christian author worth mentioning since Giovanni Guareschi.

A collection of the best don Camillo stories (most of them are in the first book ' little world of don Camillo') ought to required reading in any Christian literature appreciation class.

For those who don't know what we are talking about.
The don Camillo stories are about the ongoing rivalry between the Communist mayor (aided by the Party) and the village priest (aided by Jezus) in an Italian town beginning shortly after WWII and continuing into the late sixties.

It is my understanding that he always uses a ghostwriter although Jerry Jenkins got credit(?) for writing the Left Behind series.

The quality of the Left Behind series was pitiful. I'd hate to think how bad this new series is if it is not "as good" as the Left Behind books.

Being an "author" is not that impressive unless you've created work worth reading.

Don't worry, I think the Bobster was pointing the accusing finger at me instead of you.
The irony here is that I am an author myself, I have gotten several (non-fiction) books got published, royalties are such that I can eat at a moderately fine restaurant twice a year, once for each book currently in print, so no I will not be giving up my minimumwage job any time soon (if ever).

Nope, despite the fact that I'm agreeing with Bob on something it isn't falling.

I once borrowed part 1 of Left Behind from the library and that was a painful experience.

So it's not the Left Behind: The Bible Study series I saw in the bookstore last night.

 

I have all eleven of the "Left Behind" series and eagerly await number twelve.

 

I am not quite done with Babylon Rising and I started it befor it was actully released! I was able to get my hands on a pre-release copy from work. Working at a book store does have some perks. But I han't had time to finish it. So far I like it alot better than the last few Left Behind books. I really like the first three or four LB books, but the last few havn't lived up to the first ones. Personally I think Lahaye and Jenkins could have told the entire storey in 6 books instead of 12. Some one said Lahaye uses a goast writer. I don't know about that, but Greg Dinallo get credit as co-author of Babylon Rising.
