What time do you usually like to go to worship at your church, if it has multiple services?

The Lord's Table is scheduled for 1030 and the preaching service at 1100. I have lost my American insistence on bang on punctuality. We normally start at about 1038 and 1108 :)

It's not what time I like to go but what time I go. Our service starts at 10 am but I'm there at about 9 am so I can help set up the church. Right now we meet in a hotel but SOON (praying that is so), we will be in our own building and can be there at 9:15. :)

Services at 8, unless Liz worked late Saturday, then we sleep in, go to Sunday Bible Study at 9:30 (which we always do, regardless) and on those occasions she has worked, we attend services at 11. I have a men's fellowship study on Sunday night. Our church doesn't "do" Sunday or Wednesday services anymore, but there are Bible studies, choir rehearsals, kids activities like AWANA and youth group on Sunday night, and several different Bible studies/small groups on Wednesdays away from the campus.

I am very fortunate in that I attend daily Mass most days! I am even more fortunate that there is an 1100hrs option for the terminally late riser that I am......

C4K ....where are you these days......I thought you were in Ireland?

Traditional service at 9:30 with contemporary service at 11:00.

I am. It took me years to get over my insistence on perfect punctuality.

You are not alone C4K, I loathe the general slipshod approach to arrival to church. I try to be in the front most pew so I am not casting a malignant eye on the late comers dribbling in NOISILY after Mass has begun.

There are those who will be late to their own funerals and those on Pacific Ocean Island time.

Fortunately, the rubrics decree if you are so late as to miss the Gospel, you have not attended Mass. There is a similar rubric about leaving early for no good reason as well.

So it is a human thing irrespective of nation or church. :tongue3:

My son also pastors a church not too far away. He helped me gain perspective by mentioning that we do come together to worship and fellowship. We usually start about 10 past the hour now and it is working for us.

I chose the "Other" option because the church of which I'm a member--Lighthouse Christian Fellowship--is organized such that we have our Sunday School at 9:00 a.m. and our corporate worship service at 10:00 a.m.

Our Sunday School is not set up in a "One-Size-Fits-All" fashion wherein every single class is rigidly bound to a printed quarterly that must be strictly adhered to.

For years now, LCF's eldership realized that such a SS structure as that didn't, in the long run, really accomplish what it believes the Lord wants for our [Actually, HIS!] church; therefore, they decided to give each SS teacher liberty to use whatever Biblical-based teaching material he or she believes is best for their particular class.

As a result, LCF has several different SS classes on various Bible-related subjects. Some may cover a particular Bible book while some may focus on some other subject that's pertinent to new Christians such as "The 'Basics' of Christianity," etc.

As a corporate local church body, LCF doesn't have a regularly-scheduled "public" worship service on Sunday or Wednesday evenings. Instead, we hold "Small Group Bible Study & Prayer Groups" [We call them "Life Groups."] on different evenings throughout the week.

We've found that our "Life Groups" are better formats for edifying and educating our members and for meeting the "real day-to-day needs" of our people rather than "just another public corporate, Elder-led 'worship service.'"

This isn't to say that we condemn other churches for "doing things differently than we do" because we do not do that. After all, LCF sees each particular local assembly as being a completely independent, autonomous body of Bible-believers who are at liberty to chose how they feel the Lord would have them conduct His business.
