    Can someone tell me what "bump" means when it is on a post?? I just don't get it.

    It makes it rise top the top of the topics list, since that's controlled by the date of the last post. That way folks will notice it.

    If a topic has no activity long enough, it disappears!

    I use "Today's Active Topics" all the time - it is a GREAT tool to get around the board and keep up on the 'hottest' topics! ;)
