Hmm....so a cartoon of Tom and Jerry with cigarettes is bad for our children....

.....but movies like American Pie, Threesome, The Girl Next Door, Wedding Crashers, Old School...et.al. are just standard of excellence?

What a chimera is man. What a contradiction. Blaise Pascal

Most countries in the "free" world are on an anti-tobacco kick, but generally neglect other bends in society.....like beer is ok, but don't puff in public...not that I am supporting either habit.

The only way to defeat an ideology is by a better way: education, education, education.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Looks like authoritarian nonsense is running amok as much in Britain as it is in the U.S. - maybe even worse.

Heaven forbid we should teach our poor little children to think for themselves and make wise choices.

At first, I mistook the title of this thread for Ben and Jerry (of ice cream fame) and thought you were referring to the other kind of smokes.

    Aw, far out, man!

This is being done with the best possible motivations, but parental example and/or peer pressure will always be the reasons nearly all underage people who start to smoke do so. I can't imagine that seeing a character in a Scooby-Doo cartoon smoking would really make a kid want to light up.
