WB, the throw out thing was just me making an example to make a point. Sorry to leave an impression like that. Paul said Tongues would "cease". This word in Greek "Pauo" (I think that is how it is spelled), means that Tongues will fade away on their own. Nothing happens to make them end, they just fade away. Picture a candle burning out. They faded away after 70AD, when God's judgement had fallen on Isreal, as told in Isaiah 28, which was quoted by Paul in reference to Tongues.

WB, If God miraculously lets a person now talk to another person of a different language then that is up to God. It would not be the Gift of Tongues, just God doing a one time miracle. In my 15 years of being a Christian I have never heard of that happening but I would never say it could not. The Gift of tongues, like all gifts, could be used at the discretion of the person with the Gift. It was in the person and could be used as often as the person wnated. Much like preaching gifts are used today.

Hope that clarifies things a little.

In Christ,
Brian
