Apart from the public airways, there now are hundreds of cable/satellite networks for almost every taste.

I am 55 so have tastes far from Nick or MTV and dislike Ted Turner enough that my choices wouldn't be his!

    Top three?

    1. WEATHER CHANNEL
    2. FOOD NETWORK
    3. HISTORY CHANNEL

(honorable mention to Discovery and Learning Channels)

    Yours?

    Dr. Bob,
RFD(Rural Free Delivery) is a cable channel for farmers and ranchers or wantabee cowboys. It emphasizes country living shows, but is fairly diversified--Lucy's Cajun Cooking To Big Joe's Polka Show.
I enjoy watching PAX channel, esp DOC & Sue Thomas.

I am not necessarily proud of the television I watch, and I really don't watch that much, to be completely honest. But these are what I do watch, when I succomb to it.

    When I had Real Cable:
    Nick at Night
    TV Land
    Headline News/CNN

    Otherwise:
    I will stop at InSP,
    TBN (to get a laugh),
    Occasionally Lifetime for the movie

I am a fan of HGTV--the Canadian one, which has different programing than the US one. My son watches the History Channel quite a bit. I also have a strange fascination with Discovery Health--or as my kids call it "The Surgery Channel."

Our TV is rarely tuned to any of the "normal channels"--for the news sometimes, and for me to watch Law and Order sometimes, but that's about it.

My three favorites, and I have them:
    Sci Fi Channel
    USA Network
    TNT

The three I don't have that I'd most want to have:
Spike TV (formerly known by the more dignified name TNN)
    WAM!
    Discovery Channel

When I am bored I turn on the RFD network and watch cattle auctions. You can actually send in a bid on cattle. There are farm reports, 4H conventions, speeches by Future Farmers of America, show's about trains and old tractors, and as metntioned by another post "TheBig Joe Polka Show"!!!!!!!
Dr. Bob ,You need to get "the dish network" and a pair of dancing shoes and live life to the fullest!!!!!!!!

Spike has some good shows, but they have a lot of filth too. And they pop some horrible commercials up too right in the middle of a decent show. Their goal seems to be to bring men down as low as they can.

    In alfabetical order.
    BBC
    EO
    KRO
    NCRV
The bottom 3 are the more or less (mostly less) Christian networks in the Netherlands.

In the end I don't watch tv much.
