Yes, I enjoyed some of those listed and have never seen most of the rest.

    1) Great Escape (Steve McQueen
    2) The Hill (Sean Connery)
    3) Stalag 17 (William Holden)
    4) The Bridge on the River Kwai (William Holden)
    5) Von Ryan's Express (Frank Sinatra)

One other one I enjoyed was Empire of the Sun with young Christian Bale.

And I have a faint memory of one about the Bataan Death March. And another one where Errol Flynn and Ronald Reagan escape and make it back.

The prison camp scenes from, "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" were very poignant.

I think we all have some favorite movies by major stars of film. For example I listed two for William Holden in post #3, but here are three of my other favorites, Born Yesterday, Sunset Blvd and Executive Suite.

You have to love the music to the "Great Escape" there! Really it is catchy!
