Total Trust

I just wanted to share a poem I just wrote. Hope you enjoy it!

Total Trust​

The motorcycle edged past my truck;
I saw a sight I could not believe!
The father was in front, of course,
And a sleeping child I perceived!
Now THAT showed total trust:
Knowing Daddy was at the wheel,
Nothing could keep this small child
From any nap he could steal.

Do we have that kind of trust
In the Lord Who made all things?
Do we rest in times of danger,
Knowing the peace that He brings?
Do we totally surrender
All things to the One Who knows
The best for us, or do we cling
To our sinfulness here below?

(After I saw this sight, I was reading Isaiah 40:10-11, which says “See, the Sovereign Lord comes with power, and his arm rules for him. See, his reward is with him, and his recompense accompanies him. He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.” (NIV) This is the Lord we can trust!)
