The type of tract used can make a big difference in the confidence of the person handing it out. I have found some very clever tracts at www.CustomTractSource.com

    They are really cool.

With the money tracts I like to use lines like:

Have you ever got a million dollar tip?

    Thanks a million!

Is it real? of course it is, ITS REAL FAKE!

    etc.

Other things I do with the tracts is place them into the money slot on coke machines. Of course the machine will not take the fake money, but it holds it until the next person comes by and walla, another tract in hand!

It is really kind of fun and easy to teach the youth. It gets them excited about spreading the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ! (which we should all be doing anyway!!!!!!!!!!!!)

I have a friend that gets SO ANGRY when he picks one of those money tracts up. He's not a Christian, and I've found that it damages him. I've been attempting a one-on-one approach instead of tracting... it's much easier to answer his questions that way. Pray he'll come to know the Lord!

    for souls

Awesome! Was it John Wesley or Charles Spurgeon that said, when you preach the Gospel, people should get mad or get converted!

Thats when you know you are hitting home!

Jesus warned us that we be persecuted for His name sake, and also instructed us by saying : Whosoever is ashamed of me and my words, will I be ashamed of before my Father in Heaven.

Who is ashamed of Jesus? Not many people.

It's His words that cut like a two edged sword. The problem is too many people water the gospel down as not to offend and render their messages totally ineffective, except for some good pointers and psychology 101.

All we have to do is stay faithful and preach His words, God will do the rest! Whether it is a tract or not.

And BTW that is what I like about tracts. They won't cower down and turn yellow. They stick to exactly they are told say and never waver.
Tracts can hang around much longer than you can.
Tracts only speak when the person is ready to listen.
And God does work through them!

I know you aren't calling me a coward because I choose not to "tract" my friend into submission. I know that. It just seems like a veiled response.

Tracts can also be written on, ripped up and thrown away. In some ways, tracts are an excuse for people who would, apart from a tract, never share their faith openly. "Oh, but I left a tract on the urinal in the movie theatre bathroom, so I did my part for the Lord this week!" The "Four Spiritual Laws" is a great tool, but in my opinion it cannot take the place of Christian witness who has been told to "Go and tell," and actually does it.

I have no doubt that God works through them, because God can work through anything, even a donkey... even me.
