Training Up a Child

Prov. 22:6

"Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it."

By far the most used version of the Bible when I was coming up in Church was the KJV. It had been that way since this country (USA) was founded.

I followed a long line of kids being taught the KJV that have never departed from it. I suppose I could be one of the last in that tradition, but maybe not yet.

I taught my kids from the KJV just as I was taught, and that is the version they use. Whether they will depart from it to one of the modern versions is yet to be seen.

When my grand kids come over I have a short Bible study with them using the KJV. I've had conversations with them on Bible versions and have said that I would not be upset if they broke that long tradition, but I prefer they did as I have done and many others before me, "put the hard work in the KJV and you will never regret it."
