Yay! Another chance to talk about my honey :D Matt and I met when I visited a friend in Pensacola, Fl in May of '97. I'm from Kansas and he's from Michigan. He was stationed in Florida for "A" School. We were married in August of '97 in Pensacola. From there we traveled to Michigan to visit with his family for a while, then to Kansas to visit and then on to California were we have lived for the last 4 years. [IMG] On a side note, we finally took our honeymoon in July of 2000, almost 3 years after we married. He flew me out to Hawaii to meet up with the ship as it was coming off WestPac.

We spent our wedding night down the road at the wigwam motel(looks like Idian wigwams, furniture was made of tree limbs.) Thats all the honeymoon we had. For our blood test and licence, a meal out and motel we had about $50.

Hawaii (and a week-long West Coast tour). It was really great (but maybe a bit too expensive [IMG] )

Disney World! Its the only time either of us has ever been there. I hope my kids get to go while they are still kids. We had a ball, but I'll bet its more fun with kids to watch.

We went to Eureka Springs, Arkansas for a full week. We stayed at Cinnamon Valley Log Cabin resort...it was wonderful.

Well, since I am currently, very happily single, I'll tell you where I'd LIKE to go on my honey moon. I'd like to go to the mountains of North GA, TN, etc. The guy I was very attracted to wanted to go on a cruise. Wrong guy for me :D Just Kidding. He was not God's plan for me, and that became pretty obvious. Now, I'm just waiting for a "mountain man"

Amen, Grace, to the mountain man... I myself am looking for the mountain man. I think I found him.

    No way! That's great Saggy!

As far as honeymoons, we went to Tybee Island near Savannah, then on to Jekyll Island.

However, the best part of being married isn't the honeymoon, it's those anniversary trips we get to take each year for the past several years! It is such a blessing!

We always go to this cozy little place in Gatlinburg. It's very romantic, and I enjoy the time with my husband so much.

My husband and I went to Branson, Missouri. Of course, this was over 20 years ago and Branson was much less developed and commercialized then, but I would still go there on a honeymoon. There are motels of every kind, the shows are wholesome and entertaining, and the scenery is lovely. I love Branson!

BTW...if you ever go to Branson...DON'T MISS "The Promise."

"The Promise" is a musical play about the life of Christ. The music is stirring and beatiful, and the production is really powerful.

For more information, you can go to this website:
    http://www.thepromise.com

If I could only see one show in Branson, "The Promise" would be it.

I must have missed the Promise. Is it new??
I was there in 1994. I didn't know it was there.

My husband and I went to Gatlinburg, Tenn. on our honeymoon. The Christmas lights were up and it was very beautiful. God has blessed us with 10 great years together. :D

We were married in Adelaide, Australia. We stayed there in a hotel for two weeks after. No one knew where we were and it was the most lovely, timeless time! No pressures, no travel plans, no set times for anything.

Understand that we both have many obligations and knew the future held a LOT of travel, so it was a very, very special time to let the world go and just drift for a couple of weeks.

What made it even better was that my grown son picked up the entire honeymoon tab as his wedding gift to us! (He also flew over to Australia with me to give me away and read the Scripture during the service.)

We have been married one year, one month, three weeks and three days now... [IMG]

    Actually,

IMO, the best show for my money in Branson is the Shoji Tabuchi show. The Promise is pretty good, but doesn't really hold a candle to Shoji. If you are ever in Branson again during the Summer, just travel about an hour south of there to Eureka Springs, Arkansas and see the Great Passion Play (think the Promise except it is a lot bigger and no singing).

I saw the Passion play several times--there is a lot to be said for singing.
