The sixty-four-thousand dollar question is:

What would you as a Christian parent(s) do if you were told by your child/school counselor/doctor/etc that they believe they are a girl in a boy's body, OR a boy in a girl's body?

As for the handbook above, the only book I recommend reading is the Bible, and I wondered if you felt likewise?

Finally, is this one more attempt by the world and the devil to break up the family and bring about more sin in the world?

It is the original owner's manual for life.

I don't know....I kinda think its the nature of the child to select gender. The people who used to baby sit my son have a son the same age as my son. The father is a Newark cop and the mother was a stay at home, so when my wife and I both worked, they took care of the kids. My kid grew up masculine in every way, he is a certified mechanic for Porche, has a girl friend blah blah. Their boy is bluntly a 'Puff '......so what happened? What outside influence was there that turned the kid homo?

The devil. I have a daughter that was girly, girly growing up. We sent her off to college 4 days before her 16th birthday- home schooled over-achiever. She went through a string of relationships with boys she was trying to rescue. You know the type that is compelled to right all the wrongs and fix what's broke with humanity? That's my daughter.

Most of these relationships ended in disaster including the one that sent her down the aisle to say I do. Every one of these broke her heart a little more culminating in her conclusion that she did not have a problem - the problem was boys in general and in particular.

The influence of her public education took root and convinced her that if boys were the problem they should be eliminated from the equation. She announced her coming out at the same time she introduced us to her new love a tattooed, Mohawk wearing, multiple pierced woman who was so butch it made me question my own masculinity. Problem solved she thought.

Ten years into her new found liberation she has been through a steady string of relationships with women she's trying to rescue.

There are a lot of loud voices out there trying to get the attention of a lost world. One shouts from the Cross. The other shouts to the deep end of the emotional pool. My daughter doesn't have a problem with her sexuality. She has a spiritual problem that she is trying to mask with the world's only answer. And it is failing her miserably.

Many would of course disagree with your words "the devil" however, with the spike in this gender issue news, it could very well be demonically influenced.

Some gender confusion is normal. After all, think about who the primary caregivers are for the first several years of a child's life. Mothers, older sisters, grandmothers, babysitters, most kindergarten teachers are female.

It's kind of a no brainer that a child, including boys, would identify with women because of the constant and close relationship with women.

To extrapolate that into a desire to be a girl or belief that one is in the "wrong body" is self-serving on the part of the adults who decide this for the children.

The one thing I never hear in these stories is what, specifically, appeals to these children about the idea of being the opposite sex. It's always just something vague like "I feel like a girl". Well, how do they know what a being girl feels like? And what does that even mean?

Do they mean they feel more secure or happy playing with girls? Or girl's games? If so, ruling out bullying by boys, that sounds more like a matter of socialization than anything else.

Do they mean that they like pretty things? Pastel colors? Pictures of kittens and unicorns? That's not out of the ordinary. It's certainly no indication of a gender mix-up.

Do they mean they like to wear girls' clothes? Why? Is it because the dress helps them identify with a female in their family? One they look up to? Again, that's a matter of socialization, not gender confusion.

In olden days, boys went off with their fathers to work at a very young age and saw the nobility in God's design for men and we did not have this problem.

This is why I've always made an effort to include my sons in my work. From a very early age, they would go with me to visit vendors, make deliveries, work in the shop, etc.

I would wager that only a very small percentage of these cases are legitimate cases of gender dysphoria, but are far more likely chalked up to too much time around women and not enough with dad, or the desire to identify with a loved or respected female in the child's family or close circle of influence.
