True or False

According to Schweitzer’s own words, then, the ethic of reverence for life is not founded upon a belief in a personal God. This conclusion may seem strange to those who regard Schweitzer as one of the 20th century’s greatest religious figures. It is disconcerting enough to realize how theologically unorthodox -- indeed, revolutionary -- he was. He denied, for instance, the divinity of Christ, the virgin birth, the atonement, the miracles, and the inerrancy of the Scriptures. But it may be even more unnerving for some to find that the concept of a Supreme Being apparently does not play a central role in his religious philosophy, at least not in his ethical teachings.

Schweitzer, though he did admirable things for humanity he did so for his own reasons and agenda! Not even believing the Christs divinity he could hardly be considered a 'christian'.

RC Sproul has wisely said that if you study the Scripture and come up with an interpretation that a majority of the church has ignored or refused for the majority of church history, it is a good idea for you to dump your interpretation.

Is this a true and acurate assessment? Should we always dump an interpretation if the church hasn't seen Scripture the way we have been led to see it?

Why or why not? Do you have examples either way?

I believe it is possible to be moved around in the Body of Christ. We all come in as "babes". We should grow. Don't be afraid to be moved for at our salvation we are just beyond the door. Some will " plop" and remain rooted in the first seat available. There are lot's rooms in His Church, and His Church is not called a "denomination".

I believe all will agree all the "main line" denominations came out of the Catholic church. That means they all brought a part of that "church" with them. Some may be more correct in understanding His Word, but if we hang out "bets" on what denomination we belong to, we have some more growing to do.

"Believe on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved". That is the Body of Christ Church. In an earthly church, or out of an earthly church, we work out our own salvation. I believe anything beyond that is a work, which work will be rejected by Him.
