Trump Flies With Gold-Plated Bathroom Fixtures, And You’re Paying Millions For It

Taxpayers are now picking up most of Donald Trump’s air travel costs, unnecessarily spending millions of dollars because he insists on flying aboard his luxury 757 instead of a practical plane.

And because the GOP presidential nominee owns both the company that owns the jetliner and the one that operates it, some percentage of that taxpayer money is likely winding up as profit in Trump’s personal bank account.

The bombastic businessman has often bragged about the comforts of his ride, with its full bedroom, shower and 24-karat gold-plated bathroom fixtures. But because it seats so few passengers, Trump’s Secret Service agents appear to make up more than half of the plane’s flight manifests. And that means taxpayers are now legally required to pick up the majority of its staggering running costs.

Over the first three months of this year, after Trump asked for and received Secret Service protection, the agency’s payments to his campaign accounted for 48 percent of the $1.7 million that it paid Tag Air Inc., the candidate’s company that operates the aging jet.

The plane sounds as gaudy and tacky as a lot of his properties look. I would love to see how much money his personal companies have profited after this election cycle.

Do you even read these articles CTB?

"taxpayer money is likely winding up as profit in Trump’s personal bank account."

So, Huffpo doesn't know and can't prove it so they write a whole article as if likely means definitely.

This is why the MSM is so discredited.

Taxpayers are picking up the tab for Trump's Secret Service protection. According to government rules the Secret Service must pay a pro-rata amount of the cost of operating the plane based on the percent of passengers the Secret Service crew entails. Thus, if the Secret Service makes up 50% of the passenger list, they must pay 50% of the cost of the plane's expenses. Since Trump has the plane outfitted for luxury and not passenger count, it turns out that the taxpayers, via the Secret Service expenses is paying for the majority of the plane's operating expenses.

This could be found out by reading the article.

Is it illegal? Does it put national security at risk? Did Donald Trump set the system up?

Do the tax payers pick up a percentage of the cost of Hillary's transportation?

Does some company which owns the plane or bus or van make a profit on the deal.

So, what's the difference?

Yes. It's in the article if you care to read it.
The Secret Service has paid $2.6 million to fly with Clinton--but they've been paying since April 2015.
The Secret Service has paid $2.3 million to fly with Trump, since November 2015.

I presume so.

So, what's the difference?

The Secret Service has paid $2.3 million of the $3.8 million expense of operating Trump's plane, or 60% of the expense, since November 2015. It should reach $3 million by election day, which would be twice the amount the Secret Service paid to travel with Romney's campaign in 2012.

Romney did what every non-incumbent presidential candidate has done in recent history and chartered an airliner on which staff, Secret Service and the traveling press corps all flew together, thereby driving down the cost for everyone.

Since Trump's plane has the seats gutted and is outfitted for luxury, Trump doesn't carry a large number of people (staff, press, etc.) meaning the Secret Service comprises a large percentage of the passengers, thus they are charged a large percentage of the expenses.

(This is the candidate that's going to root out waste, fraud and abuse from the unemployment system so he can entitle new mothers to a free six weeks of paternity leave.)

Why is it liberals only complain about the use of state violence (taxation) when it isn't being used to further their cause?

And the Clinton's were flat broke when they vadalized and looted the White House and Air Force One before they left DC. Yes, we know George W., denied any such looting and vandalism, but the GAO had the final say. But, like her emails, Benghazi, and the corruption of the Clinton Foundation, it is past history, and highly deniable. But, when it comes to Trump, ctb, sees everything are the gospel truth. More campaign trash.

The taxpayers didn't pay to build the plane and to be honest, gold plated anything isn't much of a big deal. It still costs the same to fly a plane with chrome or gold plating.

Since this plane is a luxury aircraft it has much fewer seats than a regular plane. That means the Secret Service is a large percentage of the people that fly on it. Since taxpayers cost is directly related to the ratio of Secret Service personnel to total passengers, taxpayers pay more.

True, it costs the same to fly this plane as a regular plane, but we taxpayers pay a greater percentage of that cost than a regular plane.

Not so. If the SS did not fly on Trump's plane the taxpayer would pay 100% of the cost of their plane and the crew.

As it stands, Trump is paying for almost half of the cost himself.

Who says so?
Anyone with an IQ greater than his hat size?

Here, I will walk you through it.

1. The SS does not ride on Trump's plane.
2. The SS flies commercial or on a USAF plane.
3. The SS agents don't pay for their own travel expense.
4. The government pays for their travel expense.
5. The taxpayers fund the government.

Got it now?
