Trump says he won’t close the country if second wave of coronavirus hits

Trump is probably right in that now we had a plan in place and the means to deal with the virus without shutting down. Of course , this is no evidence that the first shut-down was not necessary to get a handle on this. Can you imagine the backlash if at that time Trump did nothing? Only the wacko hyper partisan Leftist would insist on locking down now that we do have other means to deal with the virus. Ken, other than those wackos you fighting an almost non-existent enemy at this point, time to jump off the divisive bandwagon, Few are insisting on a complete shut-down and Trump has done a good job by having implemented the first shut-down to buy the valuable time we needed. Hopefully you can start to switch your focus on the importance of working together to take precautions like a sane and responsible person now until this virus is defeated.

Now you brethren know I very rarely come here but I have heard and read everything going on... I have been observing rules and regulations set in place and like a good American citizen have toed the line... What will be, will be and this virus has wrecked havoc on this country and how it was handled... Will we know the answer?... Well I'm not politician but I feel the full impact will come in November... Brother Glen:)

The Democrat around here are saying that there will be a second wave right away and that summer heat will not stop the Chinese virus.

Don’t you love to get lectured on not being divisive by someone who wouldn’t even apologize for wishing people dead? Sounds like every leftist I ever knew.
You, a hyper politically possessed person, have gone to the depths of being a bald faced liar!

I explained what I said and what I meant, LIAR!

BTW, you should take that "lecture" to heart. (snip). Your hyperness is no excuse for your poor actions!

I have been comparing things to the 1918 Spanish Flu. This COVID-19 is spreading much the same way, even if the symptoms are different.

I Don't know how bad a Coronavirus season will be in winter, but it seems likely given historical precedent.

That said, a lockdown should only happen where the hospitals are beginning to get overwhelmed. I like that Florida is doing this more or less already. Places like New York City and other hotbeds needed a lockdown because our first responders were overwhelmed.

It seems these last two months were only to give time for regulations to catch up with the disease and it's spread. Beuracracy at work....Argh.

Until a vaccine or effective treatment, we have a socially distant new normal it seems. Although, I pray we get back to normal before then.

I said other than, "wacko hyper partisan Leftist". You guys really need to learn to read and comprehend better...

Way too many people who think we should just stay shut down until there is a vaccine, or at least hardly any new COVID-19 cases, to just be far left wackos. There just aren’t enough far left wackos to make up that number. The Sanders/Ocasio-Cortez crowd loses more often than not to more moderate candidates in Democratic Congressional primaries.

It will be interesting in another month, or two months at the most, to see how much “physical distancing” is taking place. I think it will fall by the wayside a lot sooner than some people think it will. God made us to be social creatures. God gave us the church. God said it was not good for Adam to be alone and then he made Eve.

I wonder how many people are in the hospital for COVID-19 that don't really need to be there?.....hmm....something to think about.

Oh I'm over social distancing. It's stupid.

Should only potentially lock down the elderly people... Let the younger normal people develop the herd immunity. Otherwise tis a folly to think you can stop its spread, even the lockdowners say it is just a delay tactic, most everyone will get a respiratory virus because it can not be locked down by its own nature it is very good at spreading. 66% of people in NYC who were hospitalized were locked down at home, so that tells you right there the truth.

Since you did not allow many people to develop a naturally acquired immunity, your dragging this out a much longer time with so many other now worse effects, which many doctors are now also telling to Trump, that he must reopen the country. Many more people are dying as they refuse to go to the doctors and end up dying of treatable diseases and suicides. (Just as Trump had said, and the MSM at the time pooh poohed on him for)
