Paula White, a televangelist and spiritual adviser to Donald Trump, appeared on television Tuesday to defend the president amid recent controversy using an unlikely Biblical comparison.

While speaking on a panel on "The Jim Bakker Show," White said that Trump's presidential victory was similar to a story from the Hebrew Bible where a woman named Esther was chosen to be queen, since both parties were unlikely to be selected for their roles.

On Tuesday, White compared Trump to Queen Esther, saying that he, too, was selected by God to carry out a divine plan.

Pilate, Herod and Judas were all selected by God to carry out a divine plan as well. Just throwing that out there.

I saw the show and thoroughly enjoyed it. At least Baker and White are not afraid to take a stand.

So you accept the pronouncements of Mr Bakker, who was previously imprisoned on charges of mail and wire fraud, and Paula White who preaches the false "Prosperity Gospel." Both of these people also have perpetrated fraud by using religion for their own personal gain. Of course they'd support Trump. He's done the same thing.

God does raise up leaders to serve His purposes but that doesn't mean they are necessarily good or godly leaders. Sometimes it's done to punish a land that has strayed far away from Him. He did that in Russia (Lenin, Stalin, Putin, etc.), Germany (Hitler), China (Mao Tse Tung). Now He's done that in America.

Jim Baker repented. He was not in control of PTL when it actually defaulted and defrauded people of their promised services. Before Baker was removed, and replaced by a very prominent Baptist pastor, PTL had met all its financial promises. Had he remained in control, I believe he would have continued to meet those obligations. I disagree doctrinal with him on a lot, but I enjoy his show. Its kind of half funny and half informative.

I do not keep up with exactly what White teaches. I hardly ever see her. I only see her as a guest on shows, I do not watch her show.

That is the most feeble analogy. I would liken Trump to king Solomon. Trump has an IQ of 158. He's probably had as many concubines as Solomon had. And the way he favors Israel, the Temple may be rebuilt under his presidency.

Comparing a tough, strong, savvy, experienced, 70-year-old man to a demure, submissive, teenage beauty queen is a bit insulting to both!

And if Jimmy Swaggart is back on television, then Jim Bakker has every right to be there also.

You are actually saying there is a moral equivalence between those five and President Trump?!

Trump has an IQ of 158.

That has been debunked. It was a claim made by an estimation of a journalist based on the fact that Trump went to Wharton and they had an SAT requirement of 1500 for entry as a freshman.

1500 on the SAT would be roughly equivalent to a mid 140's IQ. However, Trump transferred to Wharton, so the SAT requirement wouldn't have come into play.

Add to that the fact that he was from a rich New York family, and he could have gotten into any college based on that fact alone.

So, best case, Trump's IQ is in the mid 140's. But it's likely less.

Jim Bakker's Son Tells His Story

In 1987, scandal rocked the Bakker household and the PTL empire. It became public that seven years earlier, while at a Florida fund-raiser, Jim Bakker had left his daughter on the beach while he went to a motel room and had sex with secretary Jessica Hahn.

This revelation of their affair cost Jim his ministry and turned him and his wife into national laughingstocks. Tammy Faye, in particular, was ridiculed for her extremely heavy eye makeup.

The humiliation was difficult for Jay. "I drank," he says, "I'd party … just to get away from it … I wanted to be someone else."

Soon after the affair became public, his father became besieged by legal troubles. Jim Bakker was convicted of fraudulently selling time shares and was sentenced to 45 years in prison. Jay, then 13 years old, watched the trial on television and saw his father have a mental breakdown.

I certainly don't believe he has an IQ of 158. That's completely ridiculous. That would make him the second most intelligent President in history ahead of Thomas Jefferson and behind number 1, John Quincy Adams.

FACT CHECK: Donald Trump's Intelligence Quotient

A chart purportedly showing Donald Trump's IQ ranking compared to that of other presidents is based on incomplete and inaccurate information.

Gwenda Blair, in her 2001 book “The Trumps,” said that Trump’s grades at Fordham were just “respectable” and that he got into Wharton mainly because he had an interview with an admissions officer who had been a high school classmate of his older brother. And Wharton’s admissions team surely knew that Trump was from one of New York’s wealthiest families.

Of course Jim had an affair. He readily admits that. Since you are talking about Jay, why not show the pictures of him serving rainbow colored communion bread to homosexuals? Even though what he said is true, why give Jay Baker any credibility? He deserves NONE.

My main point was this: Jim Bakker was convicted of fraudulently selling time shares and was sentenced to 45 years in prison. That's why it is in bold letters.

You erroneously stated that the fraudulent activity occurred after Bakker "lost control of was not in control of PTL when it actually defaulted and defrauded people of their promised services."

I don't think Trump would ever win a beauty contest.
It still surprises me that people think what was happening in the Book of Esther was a "beauty contest."

If it was a beauty contest, it was a contest where each of the contestants spent a night in the king's chamber to please him, and then he chose his favorite. Perhaps that is what happens today in modern beauty contests, but that's not the way it is pitched.

So if Trump is Queen Esther, then he was placed before the American people to see what fleshly pleasures he would provide to make us feel better, not for intelligence, knowledge, competence in governing, etc. In other words, Trump was selected for the purpose of meeting our nation's basest urges.

That may be right.
