As I watch and listen to the media oitlets, it seems that the same media who worked hard to create negative news surrounding the Trump campaign and election day events are AGAIN burning the midnight oil to make something out of nothing regarding the Trump transition team and process.

My question to y'all, is this more media hype, or is his transition really in a state of flux?

Normally, transition teams are smooth operations that have been carefully prepared months in advance so that the new President will be ready to go. It seems that Trump's win has caught them by surprise and they are having to make it up as they go. Moreover - according to reports regarding his first meeting with Obama - Trump was surprised by the breadth of the duties of the Presidency and didn't realize that the West Wing staff serves as at the will of the President and that he will have to hire an entirely new staff to run the operation.

He and his people need to get it together quickly so that we have a measure of competence in the Executive Branch by the time Mr. Trump is sworn in. That's not going to happen until things settle down.

Uh none of this is true.

Well I did say "allegedly." It comes from the reporting of the Wall Street Journal:

During their private White House meeting on Thursday, Mr. Obama walked his successor through the duties of running the country, and Mr. Trump seemed surprised by the scope, said people familiar with the meeting. Trump aides were described by those people as unaware that the entire presidential staff working in the West Wing had to be replaced at the end of Mr. Obama’s term.

After meeting with Mr. Trump, the only person to be elected president without having held a government or military position, Mr. Obama realized the Republican needs more guidance. He plans to spend more time with his successor than presidents typically do, people familiar with the matter said.
