Trump's poll numbers are in a very, very bad place

On March 11, 45% of Americans approved of the job Donald Trump was doing in Gallup's daily tracking poll. It's been all downhill since then.

In the intervening 86 days, Trump's job approval has never again reached 45% in Gallup's data. In fact, the last time Trump was even at 43% was on April 28. He's spent most of the time between then and now mired in the low 40s and high 30s.

And now, Trump finds himself in the midst of his worst extended poll run of his presidency. Starting on May 28 when Gallup put his job approval at 42%, Trump has been sliding downward. The latest Gallup track on June 3 put Trump's job approval at a dismal 36% -- a single percentage point away from the lowest ebb of his time in the White House. (On March 28, Trump's job approval was at 35%.)

The Gallup numbers are no anomaly. A Quinnipiac University poll released in late May put Trump's job approval at 37%. A Monmouth poll conducted in mid-May put Trump's job approval at 39%.

Where Trump's numbers do stand out is compared to his presidential predecessors. President Obama was at 61% in the Gallup tracking poll in early June 2009. George W. Bush was at 55% in Gallup at this time in 2001. The only modern president who comes close to Trump's poor poll standing is Bill Clinton, who was at 37% approval in early June 1993. (Clinton's numbers had tanked in the wake of his firing of seven employees in the White House travel office in mid-May, a controversy that came to be known as "Travel-gate.")

What makes Trump's polling struggles all the more remarkable is the fact that he spent most of the 2016 presidential campaign talking about just how good his poll numbers were. To Trump, his poll numbers were everything. Polls showed him winning so he must be doing something right because, wait for it, he was winning. It was the ultimate self-fulfilling and self-justifying prophesy for Trump.

For as much as Trump talked about polls during the 2016 campaign, he's been nearly silent about his numbers as president. According to the absolutely indispensable Trump Twitter Tracker -- a searchable archive of all of Trump's tweets -- he's only sent seven tweets about polls since he was inaugurated on January 20.

Not a surprise. He gets almost zero support from democrats, but they didn't elect him and don't really matter. But his voters are pretty happy with him.

Promise Kept rulings on Trump-O-Meter

Slash federal regulations
"A requirement that for every new federal regulation, two existing regulations must be eliminated."

Place lifetime ban on White House officials lobbying for foreign government
"I'm going to issue a lifetime ban against senior executive branch officials lobbying on behalf of a foreign government and I'm going to ask Congress to pass a campaign finance reform that prevents registered foreign lobbyists from raising money in American elections and politics.”

Nominate someone from his list of justices to replace Antonin Scalia
“I am looking to appoint judges very much in the mold of Justice Scalia. I'm looking for judges — and I've actually picked 20 of them so that people would see.”

Cancel the Paris climate agreement
"We’re going to cancel the Paris Climate Agreement and stop all payments of U.S. tax dollars to U.N. global warming programs.”

Stop TPP
"I'm going to issue our notification of intent to withdraw from the Trans-Pacific Partnership."

Save the Carrier plant in Indiana
"So here's what's going to happen: Within 24 hours, I'll get a call — the head of Carrier — and he'll say, 'Mr. President, we've decided to stay in the United States. That's what's going to happen. 100 percent."

Reverse Barack Obama's 2016 gun executive order
"I will veto. I will unsign that (President Barack Obama's gun executive order) so fast."

LOL! Fake polls fake news. Trump is winning winning winning. Just slayed the Deep State today. Huge turn of events.

Trump is set for a great great first term. Gorsuch was the premier reason I voted for him. Stock market is roaring. Employment improving. Illegal border crossing down 70%. Even Politico admits he's winning the war on regulations: Politico: Trump's War on Regulations Is His 'Biggest Untold Success ...

These fake polls are really the only thing the left has to cling to, and no one believes them anymore. And even the fake polls say Trump is doing better than Clinton was as this time.
Polls: Trump's Approval Higher Than Bill Clinton's in First Term

Even after Polls are wrong over and over again, we still have people giving them play. Look at the latest in the UK, the conservative party was said to be Polling 20 points ahead of the others. Once again, Polls are way off! Why is anyone giving them a second thought anymore? And yes. if there comes out a Poll that says Trump has a 60% approval rating now, I will disregard it just like I do all the Polls now. They are proven bogus!

You're going to see polls like crazy in coming weeks and months. In America, liberals has nothing else left. Trump won the presidency. Republicans control everything, including governorships, judgeships, and now even the deep state. You're are going to see fake media polls all over the place.

Jeremiah had NO converts, and Jesus had really low poll numbers, so what is far more important is what God view on Him is!

And what do you think God's view is of a chronic liar, a man married a number of times, a man who is unfaithful, a man who is very narcissistic as well as a man who belittles anyone who does not totally agree with him?

Cannot God still use even such a man to get His will done though? As the prior president claimed Christ, but in words and deed did far more wrong than trump has so far!

God is in control. I follow enough secular forums to realize just how unpopular Jesus and his children are in today's Western world. So much so that Islam's intolerant historical nature is viewed naively by those that resist Christ. Blindness in part is growing among Gentiles. Personally, I do believe we are well into the falling away of 2 Thessalonians chapter 2. Long ago, the majority of American people stopped being attracted to Presidential candidates exuding strong Christian convictions.

Only if that man allows God to do so and I see nothing indicating that Trump cares a whit about God or what God wants?

Do you think God is happy with the way Trump has conducted his life?

Oh come on Crabby...I honestly believe if Trump shot himself on 5th Avenue there would be a sigh of relief heard around the world. Peance would slip in with nary a thought about Donald J. Trump. God's will be done.

The Fundamentalists call him a baby Christian....:Inlove

Do they give that much slack to everyone who says they are Christian?

I wonder how far that argument, "Oh, my adulery, lies, ill manners, multiple marriages do not count ..., I was a baby Christian" will go at the final judgment?
