Marshall twice fumbled inside KS'5-yd line!

But the killer was this: With over 7 minutes to go, KS had taken one of those recovered fumbles to the MU 5...but then MU made a sack, plus a penalty sent KS back s'more. Then...KS FUMBLED, with about 1:30 to go! MU made one 25-yd play, and had gotten to the KS 21, with 2nd down and 8 seconds left...

    BUT...

There was some confusion on the MU sidelines. New head coach Mark Snyder called a screen pass play, but the signal was only partially delivered to his QB, who consequently called another short pass play.

Now, with a placekicker who's hit a 52-yd FG, what's the NORMAL thing to do in that situation? Run the ball to the best place for your kicker, whether or not you gain any yardage, & call a TO w/2 seconds left. It woulda been about a 38-40 yd attempt, which that kicker woulda had a 90% chance of making...

    BUT THE PASS WAS INTERCEPTED!

    AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH! ! ! ! ! !

But Coach Snyder was a man about it and accepted all blame. Kudos to him for that, in this age of passing the buck.

But, MAN, losing that way HURT!

Stinks when your team looses because of bungles like that doesn't it?

Doesn't Ohio have lots of GOOD colleges that don't get much national publicity? The MAC is sure moving up in my estimation.

Sympathy on the snafus. At least THAT Ohio team had an excuse for losing, unlike the big one in Columbus that just was terrible . . .

Actually, Dr. Bob, Marshall is in HUNTINGTON, WV: I live in Ohio, about 5 miles from the MU campus.

And MU, along w/Central Florida, left the MAC for Conference USA, while Louisville, Cincinnati, etc. went to the Big East.

But with Frank Solich at Ohio U, things will only get better for them...and Bowling Green is VERY good this year!
