The present day State of Israel that exists today is not the same as the OT Nation of Israel. I personally support the right of both Israel and Palestine to live in individual autonomous sovereign nations. That doesn't mean I support the terrorism and infighting that goes on, btw.

Now, that said, youre going to get a whole slew of folks who disagree with me on this for eschatological reasons. So let the games begin...

PRAYER UPDATE FOR THE WEEK OF FEBRUARY 19, 2006

"I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.” (Matt 18:19)

• God continues to meet the needs of our upcoming Medical Outreach in Ethiopia . The Lord has provided a pharmacist and another administrator, but we need (1) an OB/GYN, (2) an ophthalmologist surgeon, (3) letters of invitation and permits from the government, (4) hotel rates to be finalized, (5) anointed interpreters who are called and dedicated to Kingdom business, and (6) wisdom and insight on the part of our video producer and camera operator, Chris Wright, as he videotapes the events and activities of the Medical Outreach that will be featured on upcoming Jewish Voice Today television programs, (7) another $150,000 to take care of several logistical needs, (8) all visas, passports and paperwork will be completed, and (9) the Lord will open up supernatural opportunities to share the love of God. This is the largest such outreach Jewish Voice has ever done.

• Jewish Voice's major fundraising event in Florida a couple of weeks ago was very successful. We thank you for praying for this important gathering. It will have a critical long-term impact on the ministry's future growth and goals. Please pray that God will bless those who stepped out in a real act of faith in their giving and support of Jewish Voice. The Lord has given us the vision to proclaim Messiah around the world to the Jew first and also the Nations. A major part of that vision is to increase the festival outreach ministry to more nations of the world where there are unreached Jewish communities. A second thrust is to use the medium of television to reach the Church worldwide and teach them about their Jewish roots and their relationship to God's Chosen Jewish People. The Lord has blessed Jewish Voice with a new headquarters building and television studio that is being renovated for this purpose. The expansions of these outreaches will require substantial resources in the years to come.

• Islam, according to Ismail Haniyah, Hamas' top parliamentary candidate, will rule the world. “ Israel will be defeated, and so will whoever supported or supports it. Tomorrow, our nation will sit on the throne of the world. This is not a figment of the imagination, but a fact.” Hamas remains undeterred in its quest to ultimately see Israel annihilated, and says one day soon the tables will turn and the “Christian” West will be dependent on the good graces of its Muslim overlords. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem and the defeat of fanatical Islam. Washington, and to a lesser degree Western Europe, have been threatening to cut off the flow of money to a Hamas-led Palestinian Authority unless the group renounces its violent intentions, recognizes the Jewish State, and works for a negotiated peace settlement. Meeting with PLO Chief Mahmoud Abbas in Gaza last week, he reiterated that his group will never accept Jewish sovereignty over even one inch of this land. Gaza-based Hamas leader Mahmoud al-Zahar followed up by telling The Washington Post in his usual forthright manner: “Israel is an illegal entity, and no amount of pressure can force us to recognize its right to exist... the western countries can take their aid and go to hell.”

Hamas' determination to not compromise on Israel 's destruction stems from its Islam based belief that wiping out the Jewish State is just the first step towards world domination, as revealed by overall Hamas Chief Khaled Mashal during an address at a Damascus mosque on February 3: “We say to this West... By Allah, you will be defeated. You will be defeated in Palestine , and your defeat there has already begun.” (Ryan Jones)

Former Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon remains in a coma. Please pray for the Prime Minister and his family during this difficult time. Pray that God will restore his health. Also pray for God's will to be done in the decisions to select new leadership in Israel .

• Thieves have destroyed our new building's central air- conditioning system. They ripped out conduit, copper piping and major equipment components to sell as scrapmetal. (1) Pray that our insurance will pay for the replacement of this AC system. (2) Continue to pray for our architectural and engineering team as they are finishing the final plans for the remodeling of what will be known as the Jewish Voice Headquarters and Jewish Voice International Messianic Media Center. (3) Pray that all of the plans, the selection of a contractor and the renovation will progress at an uninterrupted pace. (4) Also pray that the county will give us a real- estate tax exemption on the new building. The work, expected to take six to seven months to complete, will result in a complete facelift, including expanding some of the outside walls. The new design thoroughly transforms the present structure's façade into a modern building suited as a media production studio. Our new building is located ten miles south and west of our present property near a major interstate highway. This new 14,600 square foot facility features a large 3,600 square foot state-of-the-art television studio equipped with a custom designed lighting grid and electrical system. It boasts several post-production studios along with spacious offices.

• Jonathan's Administrative Assistant, Debbie Uptain , has begun therapy to recover from surgery to repair the broken and shattered upper bone of her left arm following a fall. She is experiencing quite a bit of pain and discomfort from the therapy. Pray for quick healing and recovery. Her arm was broken in nine places and had to have surgery to insert a plate and screws to stabilize both her arm and shoulder.

• Michael Becker, Jr. is having a difficult time on dialysis with lots of pain and fatigue. Michael Jr. is the son of Michael Becker, a close friend of Jonathan Bernis and a Board Member of the Messianic Jewish Bible Institute and is suffering kidney failure. He has not worked in almost two months, and is not getting satisfaction from daily phone calls to his insurance company. He has filled out all the necessary forms, and has given all medical documentation with complete compliance that he is indeed disabled and eligible for the monthly disability funds due him. However, he is yet to receive any disability checks. There is also a dental issue Michael is facing at this time before he can go forth with the kidney transplant. His dental work must be done prior to the transplant! This work involves the replacement of several fillings and the removal of two wisdom teeth, which also includes sufficient time for healing. Continue to pray for a miracle of healing or a donor kidney. His sister, Rochelle, is committed to give her brother one of her kidneys. She is a compatible kidney donor and is undergoing more testing to certify that her kidney is the best match. Pray for Rochelle as she faces the stress and anxiety connected with these procedures.

• Jewish Voice needs some key people to fill several important leadership positions including a (1) Director of Operations, (2) Director of Media, and (3) International Festival Director. The Director of Operations will handle the day to day management details and will relieve Jonathan to focus on developing the major thrusts of the ministry. Our worldwide Jewish Voice Today television ministry is expanding exponentially and requires strong leadership. We need a Director of Media who is an experienced visionary in all areas of management and creativity to lead our television outreach into the future. The principle evangelistic outreach of Jewish Voice is our large-event International Festivals of Jewish Music and Dance. These festivals held in Russia , the states of the Former Soviet Union, Eastern Europe, South America , India and Ethiopia have resulted in the largest response of Jewish People to invitations to receive Yeshua (Jesus) since the First Century. Over 250,000 people have responded at the 25 festivals so far and half have been Jewish. We want to do five to six of these festivals yearly and our International Festival Director will be a key person in the planning and development of the teams and logistics required in conducting these festivals. Please pray that the Lord would send just the right people for each of these specific positions.

• Jonathan and Elisangela need to be covered in prayer as they continue their very intensive 2006 travel schedule. In a couple of weeks, Jonathan will be going to Ethiopia for Jewish Voice's Medical Outreach, March 1st through 18 th . He will be back in Phoenix for most of the month of April. In May, Jonathan and Elisangela will be leading the Jewish Voice Ministries Israel Tour. Pray for strength and protection over Jonathan, Elisangela and their infant daughter, Li'el.

You should distinguish which pre-millers you are referencing.

It is only the dispensationalist premillennialists who believe that god will punish christians who don't side with Israel.

Historic/covenant premillennialists generally hold the same view toward Israel and the church that amillennialists and post-millennialists do.
