UN-married preachers??

Salty started a thread about preachers may be "forced" by law to marry a gay couple.

This led me to thinking (a dangerous thing at best) about whether a preacher/elder/pastor/minister, etc., is required to be married.

Naturally, there probably are some inherent "challenges" for an-unmarried (i.e., NEVER married) preacher, most of which y'all can figger out.

OTOH, I see no outright NT command for a preacher to have A wife.

Do you?

1 Timothy 3:2
2 An overseer, then, must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, prudent, respectable, hospitable, able to teach,

Yes. He must be married to one wife. Scripture is very clear on this one....see "the husband of one wife".......(kidding)
