[sarcasm]Maybe we can increase CO2 in the atmosphere, make the earth hot enough, and we'll vaporize that sucker. [/sarcasm]

[more sarcasm] having the UN work on avoiding an astroid...if we keep them busy on that, they won't have time to support terrorists, send in "rape squads" disguised as "peacekeepers" and engage in "oil for food" scandals with dictators.[/more sarcasm]

Maybe the UN can find a way to appease the asteroid and give it concessions. then it can just hang around remaining a threat so as to continue extorting more concessions form us.

I think I would trust NASA with this mission before I would trust the United Failures...I mean nations. Those clowns could not agree which way is north much less how to save the planet.

I find it interesting that whenever the left wants to further its agenda it brings to light all the "supposed" failures of opposing ideas and policies as a means to prove the need for soemthing else to replace it.

I.E. Capitalism is a failure so we should replace it with socialism, The Bush administration is a failure so we should replace it with a Liberal President.

However when it comes to the UN the failures seem to elude such criticism from the left and any call for replacement of the system. It has been proven time and time again that is corrupt, responsile for the abuse of the oil for food program, and the list goes on and on.

I see the left crying out for accountability over money unaccounted for in Iraq but such financial abuses committed by the UN go unnoticed by them. seems rather contrary at best to me. To put it nicely.

This post is off topic. Remove it if you must.

The bible says God placed the objects in the sky and holds them in place, I'm ever going to worry about it.

Dont you know that its our fault for being in the way of that Asteroid? How dare we be so arrogant as to get in its way?

Its all our fault. Everything is our fault. The fault of us evil Americans. We are so evil. Thank goodness these terrorists are here to enlighten us.

Nah, the UN will more than likely apply sanctions against the asteroid if it refuses to move... but the asteroid will not worry, because the sanctions will not be backed up with real force.

I heard that Chavez has volunteered to bad mouth the asteroid... hoping it might move.

But we all know it is Bush's fault.

I heard that the UN can't stop the asteroid.

But it CAN issue all of us those cute baby-blue helments to protect our fragile little crainiums.

Furthermore...if the asteroid wipes out at least 25% of the world's population, that will automatically qualify it to serve on the "human rights" committee.

Planets' gravity will attract smaller objects. Asteroids have hit the earth before, it will happen again. The problem is that this time there are people living here.
