Upcoming surgery

I will be having surgery on Wednesday, June 3rd, to (hopefully) fix a problem I have been suffering with for months. While it is not a major surgery (it will be done outpatient), it is going to be very painful for a while (but once I get through that I am hoping to be in much better shape).

I don't know the time I will be in surgery yet (have to call tomorrow to see where I am in regards to the schedule). I do know I have a good surgeon who wants to help me get better. he will be checking on a couple of things while I am under and he "is in the neighborhood", so I may have a little more recuperation than I anticipate. But, even if I do, that just means I should come out of this that much better in the end.

As an update, both my wife and I are still without jobs. I have activated my COBRA insurance coverage for this, though, thanks to the help of my folks.

Also, I have lost a total of 61 pounds since the first of the year. I still have a long way to go, but every bit helps. Once I heal up from this I will be adding a daily walk to my health plan.

It well as well as could be expected (for where the surgery was located). The doctor didn't find what he figured he would have to deal with (which was good), but did find something else (which he took care of).

I am sore but getting better day by day. I was able to actually sit down yesterday for the first time instead of having to lay on my side or stand, but I overdid it and am paying for it today. The doc said I should be almost good as new within a week or two, though.

Thanks for the many prayers. While it wasn't something I would be comfortable proclaiming to a lot of people (for obvious reasons), it is good to know that I have brothers and sisters who will faithfully bring it before the Lord on my behalf.
