Recently I was talking to a Nazarene pastor in our area whose church does not have a baptistry.

Should a baptist church allow another denomination (not baptist) use our baptistry?

Just curious at what you think.

    Sure.

It is just a buliding and a tub, there is nothing sacred in it.

I would have no problem with it as long as it was a Bible-believing church. I certainly wouldn't let a church use it which didn't agree with me on the fundamentals of our faith.

    Can I third a motion?

No problem here... As long as they weren't IFB...(Just a jab at Pocadots, people... I am not serious!!!! )... I would have a problem though if the pastor wore pink fingernails... (And that can be taken in a couple ways... think about it!)

You know, I preached this summer with pink fingernails... it was an agreement with some teens in youth camp... they agreeed to go back to their home church and stand up and testify about how Christ had transformed their lives.. if a couple of us preachers would wear fingernail polish the next weekend...

So about 5 of us guys let them paint our nails...
    This was Thursday night...
One guy had to go to a regional bow shoot that Saturday...

And 2 of us.. (as camp directors) were preachers who had to wear them for Sunday morning... As soon as they testified, and the service was over.. out came the fingernail polish remover...
    Now here is the crux...
That Afternoon, I began my week vacation, and went back home (3 hrs away) to my dad's house...

Then I went with Dad to his church that night.. which happens to be the one pocadots pastors....

So pocadots and his wife have been teasing me since...
But it was innocent fun.. and something was accomplished for the Lord...

Now, when I wrote what I did... in the post above.. I was thinking...

I wouldn't mind if another denomination wanted to use our baptistry as long as it was OK with the church... as long as their pastor wasn't a homo... or a woman.

The key is that Baptism must be Scriptural....in the book of Hesitations, it says to hold them under until they say "Tithe."

Well, Brother Tim, you are welcome to preach in my church whenever you save enough money to visit Japan. But lose the pink fingernails, okay?

I'll never be a pinko, much less a red! (For those in a younger generation, to my generation a pinko is a communist sympathizer and a red is a commie!)

But right now I'm in trouble with someone who comes to church (not a member) for using a hymnbook edited by a pastor who opposes the usage of the Japanese national anthem. Whew! :tonofbricks:
