No, this is not a thread about the member named "username"

Rather, just thought it would be interesting to see why some folks chose the username they have.

Saltcitybaptist - I am a Baptist from the Salt City - no, not Salt Lake City, UT; but Syracuse, NY. Our city was built due to the Salt deposits and the Erie Canal. Since I am lazy (Beetle Bailey is my Hero) it was shortened to Salty

Try and stay with me on this one, it is tricky to follow. My name is Steven, and I registered in 2006.

If memory serves me correctly (a lot of times it doesn't! :BangHead:), I think we had a thread on this before. ANY WHOO...

ktn4eg heralds back about 20 years ago when my hobby was listening on my police scanner. There was a company that would (for a certain fee of course!) issue certificates stating that you were now a "Registered Monitoring Station." They gave me the "station call sign" of ktn4eg. Here's how that breaks down:

K - This indicates that you are in the US (the US is also assigned the letters W & N)

TN - The USPS abbreviation for Tennessee

4 - Indicates that you live in the 4th "radio district" according to the FCC

EG - As best I can tell these were probably just randomly generated letters.

    Mystery solved!

(PS -- It's a good thing I didn't live in Syracuse NY when I had my police scanner. I'm sure it'd stay on their PD channel with a BOLO (Be On the Look Out) for a certain taxi cab driver!!)

I would be glad to help you as us livery dirvers do not like taxi drivers.!!!

PS I had a FCC assigned call sign when I had a CB

I am totally un-inventive. Bill Reber becomes billreber.

My high school football nickname (before the internet was invented by Al Gore) composed of part of my last name and dog. Everyone was a "dog" back in the day, K-Dog, T-Dog, Snot Dog, etc.

I can do everything a taxi driver does, execpt sit a taxi stand or pick up someone hailing me down. I can only pick up somone my dispatcher sends me to. Otherwise, we mainly do contract work.

And now back to our regualr scheduled thread...

    Snoop Dog

Story goes that Snoop Dog bought a house in a plush part of Baton Rouge---one of those "Gated" subdivisions where you have to wipe the city grim off your car tires before entering

They kicked Snoop out of the community---attracted too much attention from the "Lower Eschalons" of the city!!

It sounded so much better than G-Dawg. (must be an Ohio thang!)

Gina is my name. My last name starts with a B.

    I'm CRAZY creative!

I noticed some crazy cab driver in NY ran into a newstand, storefront, or something of that nature yesterday.
My first thought was "Wonder where Salty was between the hours of..."

until I came to the BB, I always used Bitsy Griffin. BUT something had happened that made me think I shouldn't be so obvious. I don't even remember what it was, I was the Media Center Director which seemed too much of a mouthful, so I shortened it to mcdirector.

I am a pastor in an SBC church. I wish I would have used SBCPastor, but, oh well.

Actually, I wish I would have used "The Sermonator!" Is it too late to change my name?!?
