With summer just around the corner... where are your favorite vacation spots? What do you like about them, and why are they your favorite.

I would have to say the Outer Banks of North Carolina. I love to go there. It is soooo beautiful, the beaches are outstanding, and there is always something to see and do.

My favorite vacation has been our trip to the Northeast...we stayed in Mass, and made a trip to Boston, NYC and then the best day was the day we spent in Maine. It was beautiful, and I hope to go back real soon!

I don't know, I have not had a vacation in years. I would like to go hiking in the Rocky Mountains, but things never work out.

When you live in Paradise (Wyoming, like no place on earth) it is hard to think of going somewhere else.

But I've never met a cruise ship I didn't like!!

We will be taking a trip to Alabama to celebrate Ed's mother's birthday in June.

We won a three day two night stay in selected places in the US, but not sure where we will go.

I would like to go to Colorado in August.

We are saving travel points to go to Florida sometime when it gets cold here.

We would also like to do a Christmas Cruise.

But the only thing for sure is the Alabama Trip.

That would depend on the time of year. My wife and I like to spend a couple weeks in either Cabo San Lucas or Zihuatanejo in late January or early February. Then in May and again in October we like to spend a week in Palm Springs. We tend not to leave San Diego in the summer as almost every other place I can think of is just too hot! [IMG]

Wife and I LOVED QE Park and Arboretum [IMG]
And even though it rained, Stanley Parks totem poles were better than what we saw later in Alaska! [IMG]

I have decided to go on The Ghan. For those who have no idea of what The Ghan is, it is a train ride from Adelaide to Darwin taking about 4 days and you see a big sky and endless earth, red earth the heart of Australia. The train is named after the Afghan camel men who plied the interior in the 19th century with goods for sale. Australia has the only wild camels in the world and are exported to the Arab world, weird but true. It would be magnificient if I travelled after rain as the wild flowers would make a brave show..... we will see!!!

Keep posting folks, we sure do live in a wide wide world.

That sounds like a great trip to do Briony, you would think that living in Adelaide I would have done that trip, yet often most people that live in a place rarely have done the tourist stuff on offer there! [IMG]

Speaking of the Afghan Cameleers, have you seen the film "Serenades" which was filmed in S.A? Amazing stuff well worth a look, it stars Aden Young.
