Voting for a President

WE are now looking at the possibility of the first Mormon to become President. Some are not so sure if they want to vote for someone who is not claiming to be a mainline Christian. To correct this idea some are saying we are not voting for a pastor, but a President and their religious beliefs should not be what determines who we vote for or against.

Here is my question. If you follow that philosophy then does that mean you would vote for a practicing Atheist or a Muslim?

Mormonism is a cult, and is an infection on the Christian community. That is a big strike against Romney. We have chosen two pathetic choices. Given that, looking at the overall situation in these circumstances, yes, I will vote for a Mormon. I despise the religion, but Mormons are not dedicated to killing those who do not believe as they do, (Muslims). At least Moromns believe there is a God, regardless of how they picture Jesus Christ. (athiest)

Each situation is different. If the Democrats were running a decent candidate, no, I would not vote for a Mormon.

I don't necessarily follow that philosophy so I reject your premise. However, I would vote for an atheist or a Muslim if they were conservative and their political and ethical views lined up with mine, i.e. small government, strict constitutionalist, low taxes, pro-life, freedom of religion, 2nd amendment rights, marriage between one man and one woman only, etc. and if their opponent was a liberal.

I went to a National Convention as a delegate for a third party. The reason they are third parties is that very few are willing to do the grass roots work to build a base. It takes hard work and dedication to obtain a viable status. It is not automatic because lots of people are fed up with the Republicans or Democrats. Until their attitude changes, either a Republican or Democrat is going to win, so take your pick.

This is a very simple decision process.

You can vote for someone, or against someone. If you don't like what our current president has done/is doing, and don't want to see it go further, then you should vote against him. And that means voting for the candidate who has the best chance of beating him. A vote for anyone else is taking away from the candidate who has the best chance.

If you don't mind our current president, then you've got several candidates to choose from.

It really is that simple.

I don't know of you understand what Islam teaches, but A Muslim could never be those things you mentioned especially a strict constitutionalist as Islam is a political/religious movement which uses the Koran to govern not freedom. Neither could an atheist meet those qualifications you gave.
It is like having a homosexual Mayor, Governor, or judge and them not favoring their lifestyle agenda to make their lifestyle acceptable by state law. If a person's life's standards are not based on the word of God then they have standards that are not of God.

Actually, thereis no third choice with an ice cube's chance in Hell of winning and if you paid attention to everything the candidate from my home town area said hr did not plan to win, he is just working to put the Muslim back in office. And before you ask, no,I did not record the statements where e said that by reading between the lines and examining the meaning of his sentences and their careful construction.
