you should walk first thing in the morning on an empty stomach .
You are not helping.....:BangHead:
Do you think it makes a difference when you eat in relationship to your walking (as exercise)
thoughts!!

Generally it is suggested that you don?’t fast if on a diet because doing so sends neurological messages to your body to begin storing fat. First, let me say that when I use the word ?“diet?” I am thinking about lifestyle changes which include quality calories and portion control, not starving oneself.
That said, Salty, I suggest you eat a ?“little?” something healthy before you walk in the morning because you will probably have more energy for a better workout and on a side note, it is better for your brain. (Not saying there is a problem there, just promoting some geriatric brain health.) Then, keep in mind that many will think or feel that after exercising that they are especially hungry for the next meal OR that they have "earned?” that voracious appetite they "think" they have later, SO remember to think quality and portion control and do that along with the ?“regular?” walking and you will see results.
P.S. I can?’t go without suggesting a little Progressive Exercise pep-talk meaning that you should time your walks, measure your distance and work toward going a little faster and farther.
Finally something I'm qualified to answer !
if the goal is weight loss, you should walk first thing in the morning on an empty stomach following an 8 hour fast. Glycogen stores have been depleted and you will tap into fat reserves quicker burning more fat. If you wait at least 1/2 hour to eat after you will also burn further calories while elevating your metabolism further.
If you are trying to build strength and endurance, a balanced meal 1/2 before you exercise will do the trick. Fruit and cottage cheese or the like.
Id like to loose weight but if I dont eat (I may not make it / I'm Diabetic) so I eat protein with fruit then I walk.

Ftr, by fast I meant the 8 hours of sleep, not depriving oneself of food deliberately. 8 ounces of coffee or tea is also suggested (minus the cream and sugar) if there is a morning lag in energy. The real key to losing weight is nutrition, meal planning and experimentation with different approaches while noting what works and what doesn't. For me it is limiting carbs, eating 5x daily and throwing in an evening aerobic session occasionally to go along with my morning one.,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
