It is quite interesting that exactly one week after announcing the closure of more than 250 stores world-wide, WalMart is no ready to pass a raise and some improved benefits on the employees who were spared the lay off last week!
Was the rush to improve wages and benefits worth the cost to those who are now on unemployment? And will WalMart be one of many employers, nationwide that will have to cut staff in order to give the remaining employees those federally mandated wage increases?
What are your thoughts? Are wage increases worth the cost to employees being laid off in order to adjust the bottom line and maintain, sustain, or increase profits for companies and businesses?
I think not! I think those 16,000 WalMart employees would rather be working for less, than for collecting unemployment and an uncertain future!
