Was E. Y. Mullins a "Fundamentalist"?

Jesus Christ was born of the virgin Mary through the power of the Holy Spirit. He was the Divine and eternal Son of God. He wrought miracles, healing the sick, casting out demons, raising the dead. He died as the victorious atoning Savior of the world and was buried. He arose again from the dead. The tomb was emptied of its contents. In His risen body He appeared many times to His disciples. He ascended to the right hand of the Father. He will come again in person, the same Jesus who ascended from the Mount of Olives. We believe that adherence to the above truths and facts is a necessary condition of service for teachers in our Baptist schools.

This was E.Y. Mullins 1923 address to the SBC Convention......What do you think?

All his books in my possession are certainly true to the Word.

Not according to the current usage thinking of fundamentalist he wasn't. He was biblical not fundamentalist.

It may be my age showing, but the term fundamentalist years ago defined one who held to the fundamentals of the faith, as were stated in Mullins address to the SBC.

A modernist was one who denied those very fundamentals, ie: virgin birth, deity of the Christ, and plenary, verbal inspiration of the bible in the original manuscripts.

To-day, I shun the term fundamentalist, and label myself a conservative. To-day it aligns more with being a dispensationalist, anti-everything, political entity, and I want nothing to do with that.

Not sure how others view it.
