Washing the dog

Little Johnny went to the corner grocery store and purchased a large box of laundry detergent. The stock-boy asked him if his mother was washing clothes that day.

The boy replied, "No, I am buying this to wash my dog."

The stock-boy replied, "Johnny, I don't think you want to use this to wash your dog. It is very powerful soap. If you wash your dog with this, he will get sick and may even die."

But Little Johnny was not to be deterred. He carried the soap up to the cashier, paid for it and off he went.

About a week later the boy was back in the store buying some candy. The stock-boy saw him and asked how his dog was.

"Oh, he died" the boy replied.

The stock-boy said, "I am sorry to hear that, but I warned you that soap might kill him."

"Well," Johhny replied, "I don't think it was the soap that killed him."

"What was it then?"

"I think it was the spin cycle."
