We investigated the Watergate scandal. We believe Trump should be impeached.

' The House, through its Judiciary Committee, fulfilled that responsibility by reviewing the evidence, interviewing witnesses and concluding that the facts warranted adopting three articles of impeachment: one for obstruction, one for abuse of power and one for contempt of Congress. Shortly thereafter, the president resigned rather than face a Senate trial.

In our considered view, the same three articles of impeachment could be specified against Trump, as he has demonstrated serious and persistent abuses of power that, in our view, satisfy the constitutional standard of “high crimes and misdemeanors.” '

Well, it's official.

The Deep State has existed for quite some time and it is time to overthrow the Tyranny of the Bureaucracy.

So why doesn't the House Judiciary Committee vote on it? Instead they are running this so-called investigation that they apparently hope to stretch out as long as possible in order to keep it in the headlines. That way they don't have to do anything that would go on the record.

This is what that impeachment inquiry is all about - trying to get Trump to resign in disgrace just like Nixon did. Hope it doesn't work, so what they found 17 leftist hacks that were associated with Watergate to write this up? Hillary herself was on that, until she managed to get fired. Many of these 17 were around when Clinton was in office, wonder what they think about his real impeachment trial? Thought so.

Ken, why do you continue to quote Jeff Bezos? As a Libertarian, you don't even have a viable candidate in your party. Nor do the Dems have a viable candidate. Biden has violated the Hobbs Act about taking money from foreign powers. Bernie just got stints from Israel implanted in him and he is BDS so he is a phony like Carter who took life-saving medicine from Israel for brain cancer in spite of his hatred for Israel. Amd then there is Warren who comes from a long line of Indian fighters and whose family squatted illegally on Indian land but who lies and says she is Indian and not an Indian killer.

So how is Trump worse than your party?

The difference, of course, is that the House Judiciary Committee voted to impeach Nixon on three counts. It would have gone to the full House for a vote, which the Democrats controlled, so would likely pass the full House. Then it would go to trial in the Senate, which the Dems controlled 56-44. Seeing his fate before him, Nixon resigned.

The Dems control the House Judiciary committee 24-17 so they could likely pass an impeachment vote onto the full House. The House is 235-198 in favor of the Dems. But even if they did vote to impeach in the current Congress the Republicans control the Senate, and there would likely be a couple of Dems that would vote not to convict.

Why doesn't the Speaker bring this to a vote of the whole House rather than "authorizing: it on her say so?

Nothing preventing an inquiry. Can be done without a vote. But to impeach the president requires a full House vote.

But first it has to pass the House Judiciary Committee.

Trump is not Nixon.

Nixon resigned, because he knew he broke not just one but a series of laws (misdemeanors) and actively participated and engaged others on coverup.

A terribly sad decision that he never recovered from, and over shadowed the great service he had given.

Trump hasn’t covered up, hasn’t engaged others (the plumbers) to break the law, did not sit with staff scheming how to sweep it all under the rug, ....

Trump is not Nixon.

Abuse of power, misconduct, coverup, those are more Obama and Clinton administrations.

Don’t forget who was kicked off the watergate investigation for .....

Hard to be more biased than that. It is not the House Judiciary Committee working on this, but the Dems on that committee maneuvering furtively, informally to subvert the process. There has already been investigation on trumped up charges and attempted framing and nothing found, though the latter is supposedly still under review, meaning the Dems are under investigation. Yet they now want to continue doing the same. There is nothing to justify further cooperation from the White House. The Dems are a disgrace to democracy, and have long been so, only now it is obvious to all who bother to observe.

Well, their view is in error. But hey, they should just go ahead and do it if they think they have a case - the American voting public with render it's verdict on the Democrat's move on election day.

That's right, this is the Democrat Party's committee working on this, not the full House's. The idea of fairness to the accused and the opposing political party's participation in the process has been thrown out the window.
