Two questions for all you computer-folk:

First of all, would anyone be able to look at our student ministry's new website for some constructive criticism! (http://www.fiveseventeen.org/) I used a couple of templates along with writing my own stuff. It's still a project in the making, but any advice would be welcome!

Second, I am looking at somehow making a message board for our students. Our server doesn't support CGI or PHP, and before I go looking for more servers, I wondered what advice anyone here had.

    Thanks for your help!

Without CGI or PHP, you're pretty much relegated to using one of the "free" services out there, such as BraveNet. The problem with these is that you're subject to the advertisement banners, and you have no control over what comes up on those.

    As for the site: Impressive.

    Scott,

I have tarted a website for our church using Homestead Sitebuilder, which also does not support message boards as of yet. However, I looked around and decided to go with Boardhost ( http://www.boardhost.com/ ). They make it very easy to integrate their message board into your site, with ready made links to add to any or all of your site's pages, as well as a link from the message board back to your site's homepage. They also allow you to pick from a pretty large assortment of colors for text and background, etc. Their basic plan costs about $10 a month, but they offer a 14 day free trial if you would like to check it out. Also, our church's website can be seen at http://www.immanuelhomepage.org/Index.html . You will see a 'view our message board' button toward the bottom of the page.

    Hope this may help,
    Pastork

I don't know much about it, but this is a Christian web host:

    http://www.truepath.com/

They have several options, at different rates.
