    President George Washington saw a need for a military academy.
    However Secretary of State Jefferson was not really on board of the ideal.
    Finally in 1802, the President signed legislation to authorize West Point.

    FTR -- Naval Academy Opens in 1845
    US Air Force Academy opens in 1954
