'If I had a son, he'd look like Trayvon!"

Who can forget that quote from Obama? Now he has dispatched White House aides to travel to Ferguson to represent him at Brown's funeral!

This president is so RACIAL, it makes me sick...

This is a young man that we know committed a strong arm robbery prior to being killed by a cop. True it is unfortunate, but Brown is responsible for his actions, and a hero is he not!

What say you on this ridiculous expense to taxpayers?

Probably cheaper than another Obama golf outing.

But they couldn't afford a trip to the funeral of General Harold Greene.

The Armed Forces and those who serve are not highly esteemed by this Administration.

So it makes you sick that he acknowledges that he is black? Or does it make you sick that you and a bunch of white people don't get to dictate how he uses his being black?

Get over it already. There's a black man in the White House. He defeated your candidates of choice...TWICE. He recognizes his skin color. And he doesn't have to act out Ralph Ellison's Invisible Man just because a bunch of folks stuck in partisan politics are uncomfortable with him acknowledging his blackness.

The man is showing his support to the parents in the midst of what has been a very volatile situation. Yall don't want him to mention race, but yall can't seem to not mention it.

That assumes that the aides are being sent because the White House thinks Brown was a hero.

He was somebody's son. that's enough.
I'll cover your tenth of a tenth of a penny if it's too much for ya. I can afford the other tenth of a penny if it helps to show a grieving mother who has lost her child that she's loved and being prayed for, not just by the President, but by lots of folks.

I would hope that if the Foleys allow him to come or send representatives that you make just as big a stink about nothing.

I often disagree with the status quo on political issues on this site (not a neo-con), but I don't think most people on this site give a flying feather what the race of elected officials is. I rather dislike seeing others accused of racism when it doesn't appear to be justified.

Oh they(the ones complaining that he mentions race) care. You don't get all these comments about the President acknowledging his half blackness from folks who don't care.

I disagree, but arguing is useless. Let's order pizza.

Actually, I will add that though I may not entirely agree with everything that's been said, I would generally agree with those on here that the news media and at times politicians like to put a racial spin on events because it creates controversy and gets the people on their side.

Racism is the belief that some races are superior or inferior to others and would include a belief that some have more rights under the law than others. Unless others are attempting to imply one or both of these, one does not have the proof to accuse them of racism. To do so is just unfair.

All that said, I have no intention of arguing this endlessly. I prefer to live peacefully, I hate conflict...it's my nature. I don't even keep up tame debates for long before dropping out.

And I usually add to that definition " that they feel as though this should allow them to exhibit some degree of power over the "inferior".

The definition you gave is how I know when someone says that I've called them a racist that I have not. Not too many folks show the overt things that measure up to this definition.

Now racial prejudice is another story all together.

I think that should be the stance of Christians ... to be men of peace. But that doesn't mean we should be unwilling to correct.:1_grouphug:

Great point .... so why do you resist correction? Could it be that your ego is just too inflated?

The truth is, you have yet to capitulate when corrected. In fact, the truth is, you resort to every underhanded tactic at hand in your personal arsenal. You kick dirt in the face of good people, and you enjoy sticking a person's face in the very dirt you wallow in!

You do not debate an issue; you retort with personal attacks and innuendos filled with personal and spiritual insinuations, and try to shake the dust off your hands by telling yourself and the world that will listen to you, that "I really showed them back slapping hypocrites who is the one and ONLY boss of this board!"

The truth is, you have run your course, and most of us have no respect for anything you say. You have dug a grave intended for all of us, but the truth is, once you finished digging it; you looked up and said, "Man I dug it too deep and now I can't get out .... would someone, anyone please toss me a ladder?" However, you have driven anyone who may have one time tossed you a ladder, AWAY!

So enjoy you loneliness, and wallow away in what you think are victories. The truth is, we back slapping god old boys do not depend upon you to get so much as a weather report. Shalom!

It is time to put you and your hateful response and useless allegations on my ignore list, but the truth is, I do enjoy watching people like yourself drive people like me further and further away from you! So I will continue to watch. After all, what the papers call the comic section, can't make me laugh as much as what you write and say!

Our President is bi-racial. He is both black AND white.

Yes he is. But whether or not you and I or any "politically conservative" white American understands it or wants to acknowledge it, his skin is black. He looks like what has commonly come to be called a Black Man.

Folks have never had a problem with him discussing his "Whiteness" and being BI-racial. It's when he acknowledges his "Blackness" that people tend to get upset.

It's like AG Holder said. "I'm the AG, but I'm also a Black Man".

Whites in America seem to have a real problem understanding or even acknowledging that perhaps there is some truth to what Blacks say about how they have been treated. About how they are pulled over by the police more frequently; About how they are brushed over in corporate America; About how they are followed through the department stores, etc.

Whether or not White Americans want to acknowledge it, they ( the people with the black skin) have lived it and experienced it and KNOW that they have been treated differently because their skin is black.

But this is where the Body gets messed up. So many can't see what's right in front of them because they are operating in the flesh and have set politics up as an idol.

Where the enemy continues to use skin color as a tool to divide, the love of Christ SHOULD be bringing folks together. But it doesn't happen when the love of the CHRISTIAN has grown cold. It doesn't happen when people are angry over the NON-eternal crap of politics and this dying world.

It happens when CHRISTIANS start displaying a love for Christ and out of that overflow a love for others.

It happens when CHRISTIANS stop loving their partisan politics and the things of this world more than they love people.

Divorce this disease of politics from the Church and return to your first love people of GOD!!!

If this adult was a white thug instead would there be an uproar? The pattern I see is if one cry "racist" that automatily exempts themselves as being racist.
