What action would be right if Cuba started firing rockets into US?

What right would America have to protect its citizens should the Cubans decide to fire missiles and rockets into our states along the Gulf and Southern border?

Because Cuba is crowded with people, should we worry about collateral damage, especially when that damage is death and or injuries to Cuban children, the aged and women?

How far should America go to stop this aggression to make sure it never happens again?

Would we be required to stop for humanitarian purposes so civilians could get food and water, if the UN or a group of allies asked us to? And if Cuba violated the temporary truce, would we have the right to resume firing missiles back into Cuba?

I purposely put the shoes on our feet, in order to see how the average American would think and feel about the very same things Israel is facing. And I ask you, since when is a war about being fair? I heard CNN talk this evening about the unfair advantage Israel had in firepower and the delivery of that firepower, over Gaza, which is a telling reason that more Palestinians are dying than Israelis.

Should a war be overly concerned about being fair? In other words, should the country with far more superiority be obligated to tie one hand behind their back, to even out the odds?

I would appreciate your honest opinions. Please don't tear this premise apart, by saying it is going to happen, or this is a silly scenario! It could, in fact, happen, and nearly did back in the early days of JFK!

What kind of answer are you looking for ?

I would hope we didn't target schools a and hospitals and concentrated on military targets but I would encourage eliminating the threat and would be willing to accept massive collateral damage.

Annihilation of the source is the ultimate goal.

Waterboarding of prisoners to get info.

Impeachment of the guy in the WH that tells us they're not terrorists or enemies.

Good answer.

At the rate we are going we may not have long to wait before Cuba, Venezuela, Bolivia, Nicaragua, and Ecuador have Chinese, Iranian, and Russian bases and we are getting incoming rockets. Iran would like to fire an atom bomb at us from Cuba.

Collateral damage and civilian deaths?

Just to make it clear, the waterboarding comment wasn't sarcasm was it?

Did you mean impeachment of any guy or gal in DC or the WH who claims they are not enemies or terrorists?

BTW - I liked you comments!:wavey:

We should attack the spots where the bombs are being shot from regardless if it is from schools and hospitals.

The right any sovereign nation would have to protect itself and its inhabitants.

Unless it is Israel, Israel needs to show more restraint! They are ONLY allowed to stick to one sided cease fires (lol)

The problem with Israel, in the eyes of the International Community, is that it is full of Israelis.

When an organization, country, or otherwise attacks unjustly, they reserve no right to determine what repercussions are to be deemed just with which they are met.

They've determined to attack and pay the price. The monopoly is not theirs to determine what punishment is just.

In such a case they need to expect the very worst, up to and including the women and children they place in the forefront.

BTW, looking at the word 'hamas' in the LXX it means 'violence, injustice'. Live by the sword...die...by...and it's time our country stepped up to the plate and recognize that even by its chosen name it has determined what justice means in recompence.

During WW2---the German forces declared that the Americal forces were fighting "unfair"---by unfair they meant this

American forces would pinpoint German activity----usually by sending out small recon patrols that probed the German lines---once the German forces were pinpointed---the recon patrol would fix coordinates of the enemy positions and call in artillery barrage/air strikes(either, or, or both at the same time) and reduce the enemy position to dust

Thus the Germans would say that the Americans were not "fighting fair"

We would never win war against Cuba under current administration---which is much too soft and yellow!!!:type::type:

Some years ago veterans of the war in Iraq and Afghanistan met informally with veterans of WWII in Augusta, Georgia across the river. Apparently Rules of Engagement were discussed. The local paper reported that the WWII veterans stated that the US would have lost WWII if they had been constrained by the Rules of Engagement in the war in Iraq and Afghanistan

America has already shown the world (more than once) what happens when they are attacked.

what restraints were taken for the innocent people in Nagasaki and Hiroshima when we disintegrated about 200,000 men, women and children in retaliation for the bombing of Pearl Harbor.

If memory serves me right (doesn't always these days) leaflets were dropped in Japan warning of bombs coming.

But because we were convinced that we were fighting for survival we did what we had to do to continue to exist on planet earth.

Castro or his son should go see his fizzykeeatrist, as Desi Arnez would say.
