My grandfather once said concerning the many views by different preachers on how many resurrections there will be and the pre-million, post-million, A-million view, just be ready for whatever comes. Now concerning the OP-
We have been so affected and infected by sin that even what we consider great delights are mostly tainted by sinful, fleshly thoughts.
For example if you took 100 random persons.....even church persons and asked them for their thoughts of what it is they desire or what it is that would be an ideal situation the responses would be predominately naturally based thoughts based on the physical sights and senses.
Vacation destinations...foods...sexual things...sports and other amusements.
yet we are told this....

Now paul expands on the verse in isa 64....the indication is we are to meditate on what revealed truth we do have and understand that we only see in part now......we only have a few glimpses into the heavenly realm and that is contained in the scriptures alone.
we of all people are to search and work in the scriptures and see with spiritual eyes what can be .....

We are to start with the revealed Lord and King...rev 4,5......Jesus ruling from the heavenly throne right now.....
We start by studying the current reign and revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ. His sttributes and the excellency of his Divine person...all the "other " things will be added unto us.....
