You'll probably have to give a little more info than that. Wouldn't it be better to read both here and independently and determine how you are being led?

 

Don't feel bad, I'm not exactly sure myself on some of that. I don't think labels really do much good anyway. I use to till I realized how different we all are even people with the same label.

 

Kilad, while it's nice to know where you stand on certain issues, it's not of utmost importance to figure it all out right away. Being online is much different than the average Christian lifestyle. I never heard of half these terms until I started posting online!

It's nice to know. To look into this stuff and study it is great, it makes you dig into the scriptures. But...not to the point where it's overwhelming or taking away from Christian activity. For example, if your neighbor is out mowing his lawn and having a rough time and you're inside studying the P in TULIP, you're kinda missing the whole point of life.

How long have you been out of the LDS church? I officially got involved for a short while although I had a brief exposure to it in earlier years around the time of the Kirtland massacre. (which in a way led me to it, but that's another story)

Indeed, it can feel like just having gotten this far is more than enough after such a journey, but it's very cool that not only did we get here, we can keep going!

 

I would recommend emulating Paul. He was neither Calvinist, nor Arminian.

I have a teacher that says when your around Arminians act like a Calvinist and when your around Calvinists act like an Arminian .

 

Or better yet...
Believe like a Calvinist and live like an Arminian.

I like to think I am a born again Christian, myself.

I'm a born again believer first, and southern baptist second.

 

I consider myself Calvinist. I believe in predestination. I believe in the absolute sovereignty of God. I believe that everything is already set and cannot be changed. However I am Armeanian in my witness to the lost. What I mean by this is I deliver a message, and that message can be used of God to lead someone to their already preordained salvation. But as far as me knowing who will be saved and who is not going to be saved, that is something completely beyond my knowledge. This is the way I feel led. When someone accepts the message and accepts the Lord I'm very happy because I believe I have been used to deliver the message to them that God wanted them to hear. I understand this is a little different than the way most people see this controversy.

 

I consider myself a calvinistic arminian! I see truth in both.
