What ARE our roots?

    I'm constantly reading on this board, implied and otherwise, that we are not now, and never were a Christian nation.

    Well, I won't debate that particular point simply because I have never seen a concise definition of ""CHRISTIAN NATION".

    Be that as it may, I WILL most emphatically state that we were a nation that based our laws, morals, and trust on the one true God.

    Now there's always a leftist who can find some isolated writing or recorded quote from one of the founders that "proves" he was not a Christian.

    Again, be that as it may, the general consensus of the FF was (is) that we are a nation founded and modeled after a Christian pattern.

    I would highly recommend the following book that draws from pre-modern history manuscripts, and thus have not been tainted by the liberal revisionism of the early "socialist" reformers of our educational system.

    The Light And The Glory by Peter Marshall & David Manuel

    Pg 255:

    Unfortunately, I'm afraid that DDE's quote has come to pass - we, as a nation, are looking to politics to save us & it just ain't gonna happen!

    This is not to say this nation is perfect by any means, but we sure are nowhere near as evil as the left is so eager to portray us.

    If you are as fed up as me about the denigration of our nation by those who hate us ( foreign AND domestic), this book is a ray of sunshine.

    For starters, I recommend you watch the History Channel special on the "Freemasons". Look hard at D.C., and see the similarities to ancient Egypt. Study Freemason doctrine.

    Well, to each his own, but I do not place a whole lot of credibility in what "The History Channel", or any other modern source, has to say about anything that I have no personal knowledge of. I have watched a few specials re: the Bible, and the way they skew the narratives leaves me questioning anything they do regarding a balanced coverage of most things.

    My whole point is that this book sources history from far before the liberals started the revision process, and if you choose to trust THC more, then that is certainly your perogative; though IMNSHO, you are wasting your time - assuming you want TRUTH!

    Have you read the book? I HAVE seen some HC tales!

    If you are saying that the founding fathers did not have a God given right to murder people for taxation and or personal freedoms then I completely agree.

    I was at a seminar this past week end hosted by the "Church of Christ." It was called "The Silencing of God: The Dismantling of America." There are also "Silencing of God" videos available which contain the same lectures given at the seminar. The lectures address the bogus claims being made today about the nation's founders, their purposes, and intents. Dr. Dave Miller was the speaker and he is the lecturer in the video presentation also. It was really worth attending.

    Web sites for the videos and other materials are WWW.SilencingofGod.org and WWW.WVBS.org. At the seminar, the videos sold for only two bucks. I haven't visited the web sites to see what they sell for there.
