If you're a pastor: what will you be preaching? Is this part of a series?

If you're a non-preacher: What is your pastor's sermon on this Sunday?

My pastor is going through I Peter on Sunday AM. Just finished the passage on wives submitting to their husbands. I always get a blessing from that passage! In fact, I was twice blessed as both my wife and my mother-in-law were in attendance!

I am not an ordained minister; I'm the chairman of deacons and our pastor left.
So until we get an interim, I will be preaching.

I am preaching from the Book of Acts.
This Sunday will be Peter and the Ethiopian.

The book of Acts is excellent and if more of us would let the Holy Spirit work
thru us, our churches would be packed!

AM - I'm preaching through Matthew. I'm on 24:29-31 - the coming of the Son! Good stuff!

PM - Business meeting this week. Next week, I'm getting back to a three part on how to be secure in your salvation.

    Wednesdays - Nehemiah (chapter 6, I think).

AM - I am starting series on Jonah this Sunday.

PM - Continuing my series in Romans. We're in the end of Romans 8.

Wednesday - For the last 3 years, we've been doing a chronological study of the life of Christ. Almost finished with it... Trying to figure out where to go next. Of course with the speed we've been moving at, it won't be until next year that we end the series.

If only I lived closer, I'd say give me directions and tell me what time to be there!

Haven't received it from on high yet. I won't know until He gives it to me...

However, if it's my choice I've been praying on, "Deliver us from Evil"...

Of late I've been feeling a Church (body of Christ and not specifically mine) infected with evil. Much of it contained here...

19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God

Thanks Dr. Bob! That sounds very good. Here's mine for today. Sorry for the caps, this is a cut and paste job.
    MAN ON THE RUN
"I was so obsessed with what was going on inside the whale that I missed seeing the drama inside Jonah."
    Thomas John Carlisle
WHAT DID HE HAVE TO REPENT OF?
    1. HE HAD DISOBEYED GOD.
    2. HE HAD PUT OTHERS AT RISK.
    3. HE HAD NOT CARED ABOUT THE ETERNAL DESTINY OF OTHER PEOPLE.

HOW DOES JONAH SHOW US REAL REPENTENCE?
    1. IT WASN’T AN IMMEDIATE TURN AROUND. HE WAS THERE FOR 3 DAYS AND NIGHTS BEFORE HE PRAYED.
    2. HE REALIZED HIS SIN HAD SEPARATED HIM FROM GOD. V. 4
    3. HE UNDERSTOOF HIS PROBLEM WAS THE RESULT OF HIS WRONG DOING. V.
    4. HE DETERMINED TO TURN TOWARDS GOD, NOT JUST AWAY FROM HIS SIN. V. 4
    5. HE STATED THAT HE WOULD DO WHAT GOD HAD TOLD HIM. V. 9

    WHAT WAS THE RESULT?
    1. FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD
    2. BEING VOMITED OUT OF THE FISH
    3. A SECOND CHANCE TO OBEY.

    LESSONS FROM CHAPTER 2
    1. SIN WILL MAKE YOU PAY THE PRICE.
    2. JUST BECAUSE YOU GET RIGHT, DOESN’T MEAN YOU WILL STAY RIGHT!
    3. WHEN YOU SIN, COME BACK TO GOD.
o GOD ANSWERS IN SPITE OF OUR SIN.
o GOD ANSWERS US IN SPITE OF HIS JUDGMENT
o GOD ANSWERS AND DELIVERS US BECAUSE OF OUR REPENTANCE
o GOD ANSWERS US IN THE RIGHT TIME
o GOD’S ANSWERS MAY COME IN STAGES, NOT ALL AT ONE TIME.
    4. REAL FREEDOM HAPPENS WHEN WE SUBMIT OURSELVES TO

    "Preparing for the Harvest"

    Luke 10:2
    (2) Then He said to them, "The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.

    The main point is...
    There are plenty
    worshippers,
    fellowshippers,
    entertainment seekers,
    Sensationalists,
    Sunday morning Christians,
But What we really need ARE THE LABORERS?

    Continuing in Acts 5:27-42.

    TRUTH OR CONSEQUENCES

    Acts 5:27-33

    1. Truth produces GUILT- v. 27-33

    A. The truth HURTS-

The fact that we experience guilt proves
    that God exists!

Jesus is the Light- John 8:12
    John 3:19,20

    The Light convicts- John 15:23,24
    John 7:7

People hate Jesus because He is everything that we are not!

    B. The truth HEALS- 1 John 1:5-10

    2. Truth demands a DECISION- v. 34-39a

    A. You can reject the truth- Romans 1:18-23
    John 18:37,38

    B. You can believe the truth- John 8:31,32

    C. There is NO MIDDLE GROUND-
    Matthew 12:30

    3. Truth motivates us in SERVICE- v. 39b-42

    A. When the truth becomes clear to us,
    NOTHING ELSE IS IMPORTANT!

    Matthew 13:44-46
    1 Peter 4:14-16

    B. When the truth becomes clear to us we
    CANNOT KEEP SILENT!

    Jeremiah 20:9

    4. Truth... or CONSEQUENCES

If you fail to heed the truth, you will face the consequences!

    2 Thessalonians 2:9-12

    II. A needful mother v13-21

I asked my preacher, "What are you preaching on Sunday?"

He said, "On the land of Jesus, Abraham, David and the Apostles!"

(He is leading a tour to the Holy Land, this week.)
